county of Columbia and State of Washington, have invented new and useful Improvements in Store Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.

My present invention has reference to a fixture for stores.

In carrying out my invention, it is my purpose to roduce a store fixture that shall include she ves and bins arranged beneath the shelves, said shelves being arranged at a downward angle and having arrangedl thereon tracks or ways for canned or packed goods, means being provided for dividing the shelves into compartments for the several classes of goods, and whereby the goods in the several compartments will be effectively displayed and easily removed when at bayton, in the A further object is to produce a store fix ture in which superimposed angula'rly arranged shelves are disposed above bins, said shelves having arranged thereon rods disposed in spaced pairs and providing there- 7 between rails or ways for canned or boxed commodities, means being provided for dividing the shelves 1nto separate compartments for the several commodities, said .means being adjustable whereby different sized cans or containers may be received. therein, the cans or containers gravitating to the outlet for the compartments so that the outermost cans or containers will be constantly displayed and also whereby the .same may be readily removed, while the bins are gradually rounded or concaved to outlets at the fronts thereof, the said outlets being normall closed by slidable doors or valves.

The oregoing, and other objects which will present themselves as the nature .of the invention is better understood, may be accomplished by a construction, combination and operative association of parts such as is disclosed by the drawings which accompany and which formpart of this application.

In the showing of the drawings, I erect alon the sides of a wall the vertical or side mem rs 1 of the fixture. The sides, from the outer edge thereof and at a suitable distance from the bottom thereof are widened from their outer edges, the widened portions being indicated by the numeral 2. The widened portions have their outer faces closed by a plate 3 which, in practice, is preferably in the nature of a board or boards, the ledges formed by the projections having secured thereon a plate 4 which forms the top of the bins of the improvement. The lower portion of the fixture may be divided by Vertical partitions to provide any desired number ofbins, each of the said bins preferably having their inner faces lined with metal, the said metal being concaved downwardly and outwardly, as at 6 whereby the contents of the bins will gravitate to the front 3. The front, at the bottom of the bins roper is provided with outlet openings 7, and preferably the bins are formed With troughs 8 that partly project through the said openings 7. The front, to the sldes of the opening, has vertical plates 9 that form ways for slid-able doors or valves 10.-

The side members 1 are preferably connected together by a cornice 11, and between the side members there may be arranged, if desired, anydesired number of vertical partitions.

Supported between the sides, and between the partitions when the same are employed, are the shelves 13 respectively. The shelves are disposed in superimposed relation and are arranged each at a downward angle.

Adjustably secured to the outer edges of the side members 2 by means 14 at desired distances above the outer edges of the shelves 13, are rods 15. lipped ends 16 of partition glates 17. Binding means 18 pass through t e plates 17 and the lips 16-thereof whereby the said partition plates and the lips thereof may be brought into tight frictional engagement with the rods 15. The opposite or inner end of each of the artition plates 17 is extended at a downward angle as at 19, and the said These rods receive the angle portion is formed with an ofi'set end in the nature of a foot 20, the said foot having an opening therethrough for the reception of a securing element 21 that, of course, enters the shelves. By this arrangement, it will be seen that the partition plates may be suitably spaced to form the shelves with com )artments for canned or boxed com- IIl()( ities, and also by the arrangement it will be noted that the outermost can or box will gravitate downwardly on the shelves into contact with the rod 15 whereby the goods will be freely displayed and at the same time readily removable when purchased.

To more effectively assure the free sliding movement of the canned or boxed commodities on the shelves in the respective compartments provided between the partitions 17, I secure on the portion of the shelves in each of the compartments a pair ot' rods 22 respectively. These rods have their ends bent in the same direction, as at 23, the bent portions being inturned, as at 24, the inturned portions being disposed below the respective shelves l3, and securing means such as screws 25 pass through the ends 24 of the rods or rails for adjustably sustaining the same on the shelves.

With my improvement it will be noted that a large number of different classes of canned or boxed goods may be effectively displayed and readily removed from their respective compartments. Thus it is not necessary that a merchant have a separate stand to display such class of commodity, such display usually involving a large number of such commodities, the employment of which would be unnecessary with the employment of my improven1e nt. are, of course, designed to receive therein ranular food stuffs, such as flour, rice, etc.

The top for the bins is preferably hingedly secured thereto, as at 26, so thatthe contents of the bins may be replenished when exhausted, and it is thought that the foregoing description when taken in connection with the drawings will fully set forth the construction and ad vantages of the improvement to those skilled in the art to which such inventions relate.

The bins have a metal lining.

Having described the invention, I claim 1. In a store fixture, vertical supports, superimposed downwardly inclined shelves secured therebetwecn, rods removably and adjustably secured to the supports above the respective, shelves, plates having lipped ends surrounding the rods, means binding the lipped ends of the plates on the rods, said plates having inner angle ends which are removably secured to the shelves, said plates dividing the shelves into spaced open compartments, and rails on the shelves in each compartment.

2. In a store fixture, vertically disposed supports, downwardly inclined superimposed shelves arranged between the supports and secured thereto, rods connected to the supports above the shelves, plates adjustably secured to the rods and to the shelves and dividing the shelves into spaced open compartments, spaced pairs of rods removably secured to the shelves in each of the compartments and providing the same with rails, said supports, below the shelves divided into bins, each of said bins having its lower wall dished and extended at an angle toward the-front wall thereof, the front wall havin an opening in a line with the bot tom 0 each of the bins, and a slidable valve closing said opening.
