Description

Patented Nov. 7
PAUL ONNER'TZ, F BEBLIN-WILMERSDORF, GERMANY, ASSIG'NOR T0 ACTIEN GESJELLSCHAFT FfTR ANILIN FABRIKATION, 0F BERLIN, GERMANY.
PROCESS FOR DYIEING SKINS, HATES, AND THE LIKE.
N9 Drawing.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PAUL ONNERTZ, a citizen of the German Republic, residing at Berlin-\Vilmersdorf, Germany, my P. O.
address being Dusseldorferstrasse 72, Berlin-Wilmersdorf, Germany,- have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Processes for Dyeing Skins, Hairs, and the like,.0f which the following is a specifi- 10 cation.
The invention relates to a new process for dyeing skins, hairs and the like and consists in acting with a solution of 1.4-diamino-.Z-chlorobenzene in the absence of an acid agent and in the presence of an oxidizing agent on not mordanted or mordanted material.
The following example illustrates my invention, without limiting it:
The well washed skin is handled for some hours at ordinary temperature in a bath which contains per liter 2 grams of 1.4:- diamino-2-chlorobenzene, 1 gram of ammonia and 30 grams of hydrogen peroxide (about 3% strength). The skin is then well washed and finished as usual, a reddish brown shade being obtained.
Serial No. 524,786.
The tints obtained on skins prepared with chromium or iron mordants are also reddish brown; those on skins prepared with copper mordant have an olive tint.
Having now described my invention and the manner in which it may be performed what I claim is:
1. The herein described process for dyeing furs, feathers hairs and the like material comprising acting on the material with a solution of 1.4-diamino-2-chlorobenzene in the absence of an acid agent and in the presence of an oxidizing agent.
2. The herein described process for dyeing furs, feathers, hairs and the like material comprising acting on the mordanted material with a solution of 1.4-diamin0-2- chlorobenzene in the absence of an acid agent 45 and in the presence of an oxidizing agent.
In testimony whereof li affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
DR. PAUL ONNERTZ.
Witnesses:
Dr. B. SGHWARZEL, Dr. H. SGHLEGEL.
