Eureka, in the county of Humboldt and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Hunting and Fishingy Jackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improved hunting coats.

@ne object of the invention is to provide a hunting coat which includes a game pocket capable of carrying quarry, which pocket may -be reached by either hand of the wearer, while the coat is in position, said pocket extending the. full width of the back of the coat.

A further-object is to provide a huntin coat vin which a game pocket is lso locate that the weight of the contents will fall on the shoulders and be supportedon the hips of the wearer, thus making it possible tocarry game without the-use of the hands therefor or-any additional haversack.A

A further object of the invention is to provide a Vhunting jacket having front pockets whichare strong and large, and

which are low ,enough to be conveniently accessible and which yield with the movements of the wearer and thus not hinder the leg movements of the wearer.

The above and other features of the invention are made possible by the particular configuration' of the parts and the manner of securing these partstogether, all of which details contribute to the invention.

These features and details are described and claimed in the following specification and claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Fig. 1 illustrates a front perspective view of the coat in position and as worn.

Referring in particular-to the front construction of the garment as illustrated in Fig. 1, it will be noted that the main front body portion is continued downwardly to a point below the fastening-means 1b and to a point about at the hips, and thence. downward the garment is bifurcated and extends to a point about as low as the crotch. An

6. lln a garment 'adapted to hang fromr the shoulders before and behind, and having the front ortion detachably secured to the back portion by suitable fastening means located at the sides of the garment, a main front portion covering the entire front of the body to a point adjacent the waist and not lower than the hips, and thence bifurcated at the middle and continued downwardly to a point about the level of the crotch, as two separate flap members const-ituting the back walls of two separate pockets, and a front wall member for each` pocket secured at its lower and lateral edges to the respective edges of the pocket flaps and extending upwardly to the point of bifurcation, and thence upwardly to substantially cover the main front member, said wall member being secured at its edges to the main front member, and said front wall member being free from said main body portion at a point adjacent the hips to provide an opening for each respective pocket.

In a garment adapted to hang from the Qshoulders before and behind, a back portion extending below the hips and laterally the width of the back, a pocket open at the top and extending the width of said back portion, said pocket including an outer wall extending the width of said back portion and from the lower edge thereof upwardly, a front portion detachably secured at the sides of the garment to the back portion by suitably fastening means, said main front portion covering the entire front of the body to a point adjacent the waist and not lower than the hips, and thence bifurcated at the, middle and continued downwardly to a point about the level ofvthe crotch,as two separate flap members constituting the back walls of two separate pockets, and a' front wall member for each pocket secured at its lower and lateral edges to the respective edges of the pocket' flaps and extending upwardly to the point of bifurcation, and thence upwardly to substantially cover the main front member, said Wall member being secured at its edges tothe main front member, and said front wall'member being free from said main body portion at a point `adjacent the hips to provide an opening for each A"respective pocket. l i In testimony whereof I aix my signature.
