.iaiaeea.
City, county of Lawrence, and. State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and usefullmprovernentsin Combination Shades and Curtain Hangers, of which thefollowe ing is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in curtain and shade holders, particularly devices of this type which are adapted to fit any width of window frame.
It is the principal object of the invention toprovide a window shade and curtain mounting, adapted to support both, the usual shade roller and the pole from which curtains or draperies of lace or the like are suspended.
A further object of the invention is to provide a mounting of this character which allows a double adjustment of the mounting, one to fit the same to the particular width of window frame, and the other for adjusting the mounting to the length of the shade roller or curtain pole to accommodate any width of window.
For further comprehension of the invention, and of the objects and advantages thereof, reference will be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, and to the appended claims in which the various novel features of the invention are more particularly set forth.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a front view of a mounting constructed according to the present invention attached to one side of a window frame.
Figure 2 is a topplan view thereof.
Figure 3 is a perspective view of a mounting constructed according to the present invention and of the curtain pole holder detached therefrom.
Figure 4 is a vertical section through the mounting along line 4-4- of Fig. 3, and
Figure 5 shows detail views of a disc used in connection with my mounting.
My improved window curtain and shade mounting comprises a pair of brackets or supports located at opposite sides of the window frame at the top thereof. These brackets or supports being respectively of right and left hand construction, but otherwise the same.
Each of these mountings comprises a plate made in two parts, a stationary one, designated 10, and a movable one 11, sliding pc ifi afiim o Letters a e Patented May 16, 1922. Application filed Februa 26, 1921.

The stationary member 10 is provided with an upper projection 18 and a lower projection l9,in which holes 20 and 21 ending in lower restricted slots are located, for the reception of the upper and lower bars 22 and 23 of a curtain pole holder 25 which are connected by a li11k26, while the rear ends of the bars 22 and 23 carry stop heads 27 and 28, adapted to be introduced through the holes 22 and 21, and to hold the holder 25 in position when the bars 22 and 23 engage the restricted slots, by engagement of the heads 27 and 28 with the rear faces of the projections 18 and 19.
Both parts 10 and 11 are provided with 2 upper longitudinal slots 29, 29 and lower slots 30, 30 parallel to the upper one, and pins 31 and 32 travel in these slots and limit the movement of the plates 10 and 11 in either direction under the action of the adjusting screw 33 guided in perforated cleats 34, attached to the front faces of the parts 10 and 11 and provided with an operating wing 35. A disc 36 is movably secured to the stationary part 10, by means of the pins 37 pairwise engaged in the slots 29 and 30. To the front face of the disc 36, a bracket 38 is attached, the forwardly projecting arm of which is perforated as at 40 and adapted to receive one of the trunnions of the usual spring roller, whereby the latter is supported.
The foot part 39 of the bracket being secured by a pin 41 to the disc 36, while a segmental slot 12 in disc and foot part 39 in which apin 43 travels, allows an adjustment between. disc and bracket. The disc 36 is provided with an outturned flange 44, adapted to be engaged by the end of an adjusting screw 45 guided in a perforated cleat 46 upon the part 10,.and having an operating wing 47 at its outer end.
. A curtain pole 48 can be laid upon the holder 25.
The operation of the device will be fully apparent from the foregoing description, and it is therefore believed, need not be further explained.
Having thus described my invention, which I claim is:
In a mounting for curtain poles and shade rollers, a pair of slotted adjustable members, flanges on one of said membersto guide the other, teeth at the outer flanged and turned ends of each of said members, pins sliding in the slots of said members for limiting their relative movements, guiding cleats on both members, a screw held in said cleats for adjusting the said members against and from each other, perforated projections at the upper and lower edge of one of said members, a disc having a segmental slot, pins on said disc for s'lidably holding the same against one of said members, an outwardly turned flange on said disc, a screw justably securing said shade roller supporting bracket to one of said members.
1n testlmony whereof I have affixed my signature.
