To @ZZ whom it may concern Be it known that I, ANDREW Ynno'm a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, county of N ew York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Locks. of which the iollowing is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in door locks, particularly looks comprising a skeleton bolt which is normally pressed inwardly, and it is the object of the invention to provide a lock which may be opened from the inside without a key but requiring the use of a key to open it from the outside.
Another object of the invention is to provide a lock in which the skeleton frame of the bolt is operated by a knob and is kept, if desired,locked in its inoperative position by suitable means provided for this purose.
p Further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent as the description proceeds, reference being' had to the accompanying drawing, pended claims in which the novel features of the invention v are more particularly set forth. Y.

As illustrated, the lock comprises a casing 10 of the well known oblong shape which is adapted to be secured to the inner face oi' a door in any desired manner, for instance as shown by screws 1 1, the face of the casing in contact with the door being formed by a removable plate, provided with a keyhole 12.
The bolt has the form of an oblong rectangular skeleton member comprising side bars 13 and 14, connected at their forward ends by a cross-bar 15 extended ybeyond the side bars 13 and 14 as at 16 and 17 and being substantially triangularly shaped in crosssection to form a sharp web adapted to engage with a keeper consisting of an angle plate 18, 19 adapted to be secured by suitable screws or the like to the door frame and and to the ap-v '10, which' at thisv place has Specification or Letters Patent.A Patented *99 Application filed Julyy 14, 192). ` The side bars 13 and f14jof the. skeleton member are formed with two rearwardly ex,- tending bars or rods 24 and 26 provided at their inner ends with small operatingy plates 27 and 28 respectively. A partition wallk 29 is arranged transversely within'the casing 10 in approximately the center thereof, and rests against shoulders 30' and 31 formed with the inner walls of the top and bottom plates 32 and 33 of the casing respectively.

It is believed the operation of my improved lock will be apparent from the foregoing description, and it will be clear that changes may be made in the minor details and arrangements or the parts without departing from the scope and spirit of my invention as set forth in the appended claims. i
Having thus described my invention what I claim as'new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States isl. er lock comprising a casing, a bolt therein composed ot a pair of side bars, a cross-bar unitingy said side bars at their front ends, projections on said cross bar adapted to normally engage a keeper, said keeper composed of three members, two ot said members provided with shoulders 'for the engagement by said projections of the cross bar, shoulders on said casing engaging the outer faces of the outer keeper members, one ot the side bars of said bolt being recessed at its lower edge, means 'for operating said bolt, a sliding latch sliding between guides on the inner face or the casing wall, a recat its outer of the casing and carrying an tangular bent arm on said latch provided with a hook at its outer end adapted to be engaged in the recess of said side bar, a pin on said latch extending through a longitudinal slot in the front wall of the casing to play therein, a slide plate on the outer end of said pin, and a socket surrounding said slot upon which said slide plate is gliding for locking and unlocking said bolt` and its operating means.
