IMPROVEMENT IN DISH-HEATERS.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 140,769. dated July 15, 1873; application filed May 7 1873.

It consists of a guard-plate, C, and a shallow parallelopipedal-shaped box, A, mounted on legs B B B B, and made yof metal, and provided with an opening, a, at one side or end, f
there being a door, 1 to such opening. The four legs rest on the guard-plate, and are fixed to it, so that there may be aclear and open space, c, between the guard plate and the bottom of the box, the guard-plate having a length and width corresponding to those of the box. Within the box there is placed a block, D, or series of blocks of metal, constructed so as to be capable of being inserted or removed through the doorway of the box.
Previous to using the article, the block or blocks D are to be heated to a high temperature, and after such, it or they are to be inserted in the box and the door closed. The guard-plate serves to protect a table-top or cloth from the heat radiated from the under side of the box when the heater may be vin use. A plate or other article to be heated or kept hot is to be placed on the top of the box. The said dish-heater is more especially designed for use on a table for heating or warming a plate or dish, especially while a person may be eating therefrom.
.I claim as my invention- The new article of manufact-ure, or dishheater, as described, composed of the guardplate, the legs, and the box, provided or for use with the heating blockor blocks, all being arranged and constructed and for use, substantially as specified.
