I. 'N. POLLINGHER.
HOSE SUPPORTER.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT. 23, 1920.
Patented Feb. 21, 1922.
[mien tor To all wkomiit vhay; mm: i
a: citizen' 'of ther'United States, residing at Brocktonyin the. county. of Plymouth and State of -Massachusetts, have invented :new
and useful Improvements in Hose Sup porters, .-of'which the followingis a specification'. I i
This invention relates to an improvement in hose supporters. f E' The object of the inventioir isetokso construct a hose supporter that said supporter may be secured around the leg in such a manner that the leg will be protectedagainst contact with the metal parts of the fastening device which is so concealed as to also be prevented from catching in the clothing The invention consists in the combination and arrangement of, parts set forth in the I Fig. 4 is a horizontal section taken on the line 44 of Fig. 1.
Like numerals refer to like parts throughout the several views of the drawings.
In the drawings, 1; represents a member constructed of elastic material adapted to extend aroundthe leg, and having a buckle 2 of any desired type by which the length of said elastic membermay be varied. Attached adjacent to an end 3 of the elastic member 1 is a member 4 constructed of flexible material as, for example, leather. The

Enclosing the end 3 of the elastic member 1 is' a tip 17 constructed of suitable sheet material. The tip 17 is secured between I the flexible member 4 and the elastic material l by the stitches 5 simultaneously with the operation of securing the flexible member 4 to the end ofsaid elastic material. .An eyelet'18 is located adjacent to the end 3 of the elastic member 1, being inserted through both layers of the tip 17 and the elastic material therebetween, being clinched over therear side of .said tip. The eyelet 18 is adapted to receive a hook portion 19 of a fastener 20 which is secured in a loop 21 provided in the free end of the elastic member 1. The fastener 20 may be constructed 9O tension 23 formed integral therewith which is located between the layers ofjfmaterial forming the loop 21in order to stiffen that portion of the loop which is engaged by the thumb. and finger when the fastener 20 is being inserted in the pocket 7 for the purpose offastening the hook 19"within the eyelet 18. j
Thehose supporter constructed as herein described may be "quickly assembled and cheaply constructed because of the few parts and little stitchingzrequired in assembling, while the pocket 7 Y entirely encloses the fastening device by which the hose supporter is attached to the leg and prevents the metal portions thereof from contacting with the le or catching in the clothing.
I claim:
1. A hose supporter comprising an elastic member adapted to extend around the leg, a flexible member attached at one end portion of said elasticmember and projecting beyond said end portion from both sides of said elastic member clasp members carried by said flexible member and means to fasten the free end of said elastic member between the projecting sides of said flexible member.
2. A hose supporter comprising an elastic member adapted to extend around the leg, a flexible member extending transversely around said elastic member being attached thereto at one end portion thereof, said flexible member also projecting beyond said end portion from both sides of said elastic member, and being stitched to said elastic member to form a pocket at said end, clasp members carried by said flexible member and means to fasten the free end of said elastic member within said pocket.
3; A hose supporter comprising an elastic member adapted to extend aronndthe leg, a flexible member extending transversely tip located at the end of said elastic member Within said pocket, an eyelet attached to said tip and a fastener attached to the free end of said elastic member and provided with a hook adapted to engage said eyelet. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses. 7 I
