PATENT OFFICE.
WORLEY N. CRISS, F KITTANNING, PENNSYLVANIA.
PASSENGER/S TRAIN TICKET HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Jan. 24, 1922.
Application filed September 9, 1921. Serial No. 499,362.
1 '0 all "whom it may concern:
Be it known that I. Wonnnr N. Cniss, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kittanning, in the county of Armstrong and State of Pennsylvania, have invented cer tain new and useful Improvements in a Passengers Train Ticket- Holder, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a. ticket holder and has for its olflect to provide a device of this nature which is particularly simple in construction and highly efiicient in use and it consists in the combination and construction hereinafter set forth and claimed.
in the drawing Figure l is a perspective view showing the upper portion ot a seat with the ticket holder attached thereto,
Figure 2 is a longitudinal vertical section taken therethro-ugh,
Figure 3 is a top plan of the ticket holder and Figure 'l is a transverse section therethrough.
Referring to the drawings by numerals it will be seen that 1 designates the back of a seat preferably those kind which are found in railroad coaches and this seat back 1 is provided with a recess 2 as shown to advantage in Figure T he ticket holder consists of a plate 3 torminga base and auxiliary plate at which is pressed therefrom so as to be integral therewith having its ends curved as shown at 5 whereas its body portion extends in a plane parallel to'the plane of the base plate 3. Apertured ears (3 are cut from the end portions oi the auxiliary plate a and bent downwardly at right angles to the base plate 3 and form journals for the shaft 7 upon which is mounted the roller 8. This roller 8 is provided with a sheeting around its periphery as indicated at 1) preferably of some such material as rubber so as to grasp the ticket 10 when it is positioned as shown in Figure 1.
Having thus described my invention wnat I claim as new is 1. A ticket holder of the class described comprising a base plate. an auxiliary plate formed integral therewith so to register with a slot in the base plate, journal'elelnents mounted on the base plate adjacent the slot and a roller mounted in said journal elements so as to register with said slot.
2. A device of the class described including a base plate, an auxiliary plate, said base plate being provided with a slot, said auxiliary plate registering with said slot and in aplane spaced and parallel to the plane of the base plate, apertnred ears projecting downwardly from the base plate and a roller journallcd in said ears.
3. As a new article of manufacture, a ticket holder comprising a base plate having an auxiliary plate pressed from its central portion so as to be spaced therefrom and extend in a plane parallel thereto, a pair of depending ears struck from the base plate and the ends of the auxiliary plate and extending at right angles from the base plate and a roller journalled therein.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence ct two witnesses.
WORLEY N. CRISS.
