To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, RoBER'r A. LEAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yellow Springs, in the county of Greene and State of Ohio, have invented certain new-and useful Improvements in Wood Preservatives; and I do hereby declare the followin to be a full, clear, and exact description 0 the invention, such as will enable othersskilled in the .art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The present invention relates to a Wood preserving composition which is adapted to be applied .to the surface thereof byineans of a brush or other article adapted to spread a'liquld coating upon a surface.
The composition is applicable to posts, piles, railway ties and other timber and resists the action of moisture and the elements.
In preparing the composition, the ingredients herelns-pecified are compounded in about the proportions stated, i. e.,
Boiled linseed oil 4% gals. Pulverlzed charcoal 2 lbs. Turpentine 1 pt.
