To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK E. ABBOTT, a citizen of the United v fields, in the county of Fresno and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Polish for Varnished and Painted Surfaces, of which the a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
My invention relates to a composition of matter adapted for use as a polish and more particularly as a polish for painted and varnished surfaces, the polish being particularly intended for use upon automobiles and furniture though being capable of use in other relations.
The formula constituting the subject mat ter of the present invention consists of the following ingredients combined in substantially the proportions stated; namely, quantities for one gallon:
Turpentine one quart.
Fullers earth one ounce.
Linseed oil (boiled) one-half gallon.
Wood alcohol one and one-half pints. v Liquid shellac 4 ounces.
Butter of antimony 3 ounces.

The ingredients named are thoroughly mixed by agitation or otherwise to render the product homogeneous-and in that condition provide a polish which when applied to varnished surfaces produces a high luster and, in addition, aids in preserving the life of thevarnish. I
It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the use of the precise pro portions recited but that minor variations may be made Without Having described claim is:
1. A polish of the character described consisting of turpentine, fullers earth, boiled linseed oil, wood alcohol, shellac and butter of antimony.
2. A polish of the character described consisting of the following ingredients combined in substantially the proportions stated, viz., turpentine one quart, fullers earth one ounce, linseed oil (boiled) one-half gallon, Wood alcohol one and one-half pints, liquid departure therefrom. my invention what I shellac 4 ounces, butter of antimony-3 ounces.
