IMPROVEMENT IN lRONlNG-TABLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 140,356, dated July 1, 1873; application filed February 13, 1873. f
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, JACOB FRANKENFIELD and WILLIAM E. KICHLINE, of Bethlehem, in the county of Northampton and State of Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Ironing- Board; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying "drawings making part of this specificationa inclined supports O C extending forward under the small end ofthe board A and resting on the door at their free ends b b, as shown in Fig. 1. These supports ina-y be connected as one bycross-braces d d. rlhey are held at the proper inclination by a cord, f, or its equivalent,- extending therefrom obliquely downward and backward, as represented. In or der to rmly sustain the small end of the i board we hinge at g a brace, or pair of braces,
D D, to the under side thereof, the other end of the brace or leg fitting into or against a notch, shoulder, or projection, h, on or between the supports C C; or any equivalent arrangement may be employed. Thus, the small end of the board is securely supported, and yet is as free to receive any article required to be drawn over or around it.
By lifting the free end of the braces D D from the stop against which they rest, the parts ofthe instrument may be folded together.
Vhat we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- A The combination of the board A, legs B B, oblique supports (l C, and brace or braces D D, substantially as herein specified.
