To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SMITH N. Anna, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newbern, in the county of Dyer and State of Tennessee, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cotton-Pickers Sacks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in cotton pickers sacks of the characteradapted to be suspended from apersons shoulder with one face thereof adjacent its closed end dragging on the ground between the rows of cotton as the person proceeds which causes an extreme wear on that part of the bag which is in contact with the ground and the invention has. for its primary object the provision of means whereby the bag may be easily and conveniently reversed without detachingthe shoul'-- der strap therefrom and also provides a device which may be conveniently used when suspended from either shoulder.

Another object of this invention is the provision of a cotton pickers sack of the above stated character, which will be simple, durable and efficient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.

With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel'features of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.

For a complete understanding of my invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspectiveview, illustrating a cotton pickers sack constructed 1n accordance with my invention.

Fig. 2 is a sectional view illustrating the same.

In order to provide the mouth 3 of sufficient or convenient size, the bag 1 is slit at each side from its open end downwardly in the direction of its closed end for a short dis tance to form flaps 5 and 6. The ends of the shoulder strap 4 are stitched or otherwise secured to the bag 1 at the inner ends of the slit and said shoulder strap is adapted to be passed over a persons head and in engagement with one shoulder opposite to the side of the person on which the bag is positioned. At each corner of the flaps 5 and 6 is secured a button 7 and the shoulder strap 4 adjacent its attached end is provided with button holes 8.

Inuse, the outermost flap is left free and the inner flap is attached to the shoulder strap by the button passing through the button holes 8, thereby providing a comparatlvely large open mouth 3 in which the cotton may be inserted and it is well known that the bag dragging on the ground soon wears at its point of contact with the ground and in order to bring about an even wear on each side of the bag, the flap that has heretofore been attached to the strap is unbuttoned or detached and the other flap secured thereto and the strap reversed on the shoulder so as to bring the other face of the bag into contact with theground.

Itis also to be noted that this device can be easily and conveniently worn or used on either shoulder of a person.

I/Vhile I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination, and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

Having thus described my invention what I claim is 1. A cotton pickers sack provided at its receiving end with flaps, a suspending means secured to the sack inwardly of the free edges of the flaps, and means by which the upper edge of either flap may be secured to the suspending means at points above the connection of the suspending means to the sack.

2. A cotton pickers sack having a suspending strap fastened thereto, said sack being slit at its sides to provide flaps at the insert end, said strap having buttonholes therein, each flap having buttons to engage said button holes, said flaps thus be ing capable of selective and independent fastening in raised position independently of the fastening means of the strap.

3. A cotton pickers sack provided at its upper or receiving end With transversely extending flaps, a suspending strap secured to the longitudinal edges 01"? the sack at'the inner edges of the flaps, and means by which cured to the strap at points above the connection of the strap to the sack.
