GARTER.
Application filed September 18, 1920.
To all whom t may concern.
Be it known that I, EMMA LANDGRAF, geb. CARTHARIUS, a citizen of the German Republic, and residing at Dresden, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garters, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved garter, which is represented on the accompanying drawing, in which Figures 1 and 2 are side views of the same, in its disengaged and engaged position respectively, while Fig. 3 is a fragmentary sectional plan view of the same.
The improved garter comprises an elastic ribbon with angular end a and straight end b. In the end a, a plurality of button-holes c are provided. Z is an elastic strap of adjustable length suspended from a corset or the like and which carries on its lower end a square metal buckle e, f with a vertical crossmember g to which the end b of the elastic ribbon is attached, said crossmember having a knob JL for engagement with one of the button-holes c in the end a of the elastic Specification of Letters Patent.

What I claim, is
A garter comprising, in combination, an adjustable strap, a square metal buckle on one end of said strap having lateral members and a cross-member, a knob on the latter, and an elastic ribbon with one end attached to said cross-member and having a plurality of button-holes in its other end for engagement with said knob, said'other end to be led beneath the lateral members of said metal buckle, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
