IMPROVEMENT IN BED-SPRINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 138,589, dated May 6, 1873 application iled March 29, 1873.
vsprings constructed according to my invention; it also shows part of a bed and one of the slats in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a plan View of the spring. Fig. 3 is a front elevation, and Fig. 4 isa front elevation of a spring with a Inodied arrangement of the end on which the slat rests.
A represents the spring, which consists of a flat piece of' steel bent into the form of two sides of a triangle, and fastened at one side one end of a slat, C, as shownin the drawing. This upper end I propose to bend a lit` tle at a to form a rest for the Slat, and split it either near the middle or near the sides, and bend up one or more tongues, d., to enter a mortise, e, inthe middle or notches in the sides of the slat, and thus hold it on its seat. Having thus described myinvention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentp As anilnproved article of manufacture, the spring A, having a seat., a., for the slat to rest on, and one or more tongues, d, for holding on the seat, all formed of the end ofthe spring, substantially as specified.
