To all rwhom z't may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE F. STEINKAMP, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bath-Room Fixtures.

This invention relates to bath-room fixtures, combining a stationary wash-stand with a lateral bath-area extension and toilet or Water-closet features in their structure, and the object thereof is not only to economize in the use of valuable space and very material expense of production, but to simplify and facilitate the supply for the demands of those wishing to use a wash-stand or basin in the ordinary way, or to use an adjacent toilet or water-closet in the ordinary way, such toilet having an especially large and improvised seat or slab that has an opening or orifice therein alining with the water-closet for both bath and toilet use, or for either as occasion may require.

Figure 1 is an almost full fronteface perspective view of the improved bath and wash-stand combination taken by itself, but omitting the flushing-tank and water-closet; Fig. 2, a similar view, but showing the device installed in one end of a bath-room or lavatory, including the lushing-tank, the water-closet, the sidewalls and one of the end-walls of the said lavatory; and Fig. 3, a transverse section taken on the dotted-line c, b, of each of the former views, but omitting the walls, the liushing-tank and the base-supports of the said views.

A indicates the combined bath extension and water-closet seat, a large oriiice or opening B being provided therein that alines with the toilet or water-closet K beneath.

C indicates a wash basin or stand preferably but not essentially cast integral with the said bath-extension A, and with the bottoms of both on the same level, as shown in Fig. 3.

The bath-extension A is provided with vertical side-walls or bath-extension rims 1' and c, a front wall or rim f and a rear wall or rim s, the side-wall c and front-wall f being shallow ones to form water barriers that do not inconvenience the user of the bath-extension as a water-closet seat or as a bathing-seat in a sitting position, as his feet rest on the floor with his knee-pits on or above the rim 7". Otherwise he can sit on the bath-extension with his feet resting galilnst the front rim f for a more extended d, d, indicate side-supports for the device to elevate it above the floor, convenient for Wash-stand, bathing and toilet purposes, and for access to sanitary cleaning beneath,

as well as for ventilation and ready access to the required plumbing.

H indicates an ordinary water flushingtank for the toilet, a notch or opening m, shown in Fig. 1, being provided at the' rear of the wash-stand to accommodate any needed discharge-pipe (not shown) that shall lead, as customary, to the toilet K.

Suitable openings n and a are provided in the wash-stand for hot and cold water inlet pipes, respectively, and a drain-opening Z leads from the toilet K to the usual sewer-connections (not shown). A drainopening p is provided in the bottom of the wash-stand.

In using the bath-extension, water is taken by means of a sponge or otherwise from a supply in the wash-stand C, which is within easy reach of the bather while sitting on the bath-extension A, between the opening B and the back-wall s, such opening B serving as an outlet for the water so used, as well as for the convenience of the person in using the toilet beneath. The drainage from the sitz-bath slab A is directed into the toilet through the orifice or opening B, and thence it drains into the sewer-pipe connections (not shown) through the opening Z. The walls e, f, f," and s prevent any overflow of the bath-water ordinarily used on the slab A, While the large opening or opening B is really ample at all times to carry off into the toilet any water taken from the washstand and used for the desired bath on the said bath-extension.
