IMPROVEMENT IN BED-BOTTOMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 137,398, dated April 1, 1873; application filed March 10, 1673.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, A. S. WELLS, of New Britain, county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bed-Bottoms, of which the following is a specification:
The nature of my invention relates to an v improvement in bed-bottoms; and consists in a number of diamond-shaped sheet-metal plates, secured together at their sides and ends by means of links, and supported in po sition by suitable springs, as will be more fully described hereafter.
The accompanying drawing is a plan view of myinvention.
it represents two cross-pieces, secured to the I bed-frame by means of screws, or any other suitable devices, and upon which the whole weight of the bed rests. Secured to and supported by the coiled or other suitable springs c are a number of sheet-metal plates, 1', which are pivoted together at their ends and sides by means of the links e.
These plates may be of any shape desired,
a and of any number, so that they answer the plates of sheet metal, when pivoted together in the manner described.
