The nature of my invention consists in the construct-ion and arrangement of an adjustable window-screen, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a front elevation, and Fig. 2 a side view, ot' my invention.
- A represents a frame of any suitable dimen- "sions, which is to be filled with any suitable material to answer for a screen. In one side of the frame A is an adjustable slide, B, which is attached to metal guides C G sliding in grooves or recesses on the sides of the frame. Across the frame A is a metal guide-plate, D, with thumb-nut a in the tenter tggioldf'th'emm' slide in the frame when putting it into the window-frame. Then, by loosening the thumbnut a, the slide B adjusts itself by means of springs b b arranged within the side pieces of the frame, and fits the opening. This thumbnut can also be used to lock the screen when p in the window so that it cannot be opened from the outside. The metal guides C C have each a slot, e, through which a screw, d, passes and stops the slide at a suitable point.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and d esire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The guides C C, springs b b, thumb-nut a, and slide B, in combination with the bar D and frame A, all constructed and arranged substantially as and for the purpose specied.
