WITNESSES. IJVVEJVTOR -ZZJ/Zf W Attorneys. I
UNITED STAT s THEODORE o. sRRrNeER, OF NEW YORK, N. v.
IMPROVEMENT IN BLIND SLAT FASTENERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 142,526, dated September 2, 1873; application filed August 20, 1873.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, THEoDoR G. SPRING- ER, of New York, in the county of New York and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Blind- Slat Lock; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon,-making a part of thisspccification.
The nature of my invention consists of a rod, with its lower end bent at right angles,
and passed through a curved slot in a plate connected to the blind-frame, twodisks being on said rod-one on each side of the plateand a cam-lever pivoted and working against the outer disk for the purpose of securing the slats of the blind at any angle desired, all as more fully hereinafter set forth.
Figure 1 represents a front elevation, and Fig. 2 a vertical section.
In the annexed drawings, making part of this specification,A represents the frame of the blind, and O G the slats of the same, which partially revolve, as is usual with movable slats. The slats are connected together by the usual bar B, which serves to open orclose I them. To the lower end of the bar B is secured a rod, D, one end of which is turned at a right angle, and passes into the slot of a plate, G. This plate G is secured to the lower sill or panel of the blind. a represents a camlever, which is pivoted in the curved end of rod D. This lever, when turned in one direction, clamps the plate Gr between two collars on the rod D, and thus stations said rod and with it the' slats G G. The slats, when either open or closed, can thus be stationed in a moment by the use of the cam-lever.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The combination, with the blind-frame and blinds A B O, of the rod D with its lower end bent at right angles, the slotted plate G, and I the pivoted cam-lever a, all substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto -set my hand this 20th day of August, 1873.
THEODORE G. SPRINGER.
