TOILET-PAPER FIXTURE.

Be it known that I, FRED \Vnsmcr COOK, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of North Chicago, in the county of Lake, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Paper Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to that class of toilet paper fixtures in which a fixed and a removable spool section are locked together after the placing thereon of the roll of paper, with the locking means held against an unfastening operation until the roll of paper has been exhausted. And the present improvement has for its object To provide a simple and efficient structural formation and association of parts in fixtures of the spool type, adapting the same to receive in a convenient manner a coating of white enamel so as to correspond with the white enamel finish of toilet rooms and their other fixtures, all as will hereinafter more fully appear. In the accompanying drawing Figure 1, is a central longitudinal section of a toilet paper fixture embodying the present invention.

Like reference numerals indicate like parts in both views.
Referring to the drawing, 1 designates the circular heads of the stationary section of the fixture, provided with screw-holes for attachment to the wall of a toilet room, and 2, designates a tubular shank extending centrally from the head 1 and formed with a lateral orifice 3 adapted to constitute a stop for the spring locking tongue herein after described, as well as a passage for the finger of the operator in effecting a manual release of said tongue.
4, designates a notch or recess in the free end of the tubular shank 2 for engagement with a holding lug on the removable section of the fixture.
5, designates the circular head of the removable section of the fixture, provided with a stem or shank 6, preferably of a tubular form adapted to fit and slide in the bore of the tubular shank, 2 of the stationary section aforesaid.
7, designates a spring tongue or bar fastened at one end in a longitudinal peripheral recess in the aforesaid stem 6 with its free end adapted to engage 1n the lateral Ollfice 3 in an assembled relation of the parts as shown in Fig. l.
8, designates a stop lug arranged at the meeting point of the head 5 and stem 6, and adapted when the parts are assembled to en-- gage in the notch or recess 4 of the shank 2, to prevent independent rotation between the two sections of the fixture and also prevent any torsional strain being imposed on the spring tongue 7 in its engagement in the orifice 3 aforesaid.
Having thus fully described my said invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The combination in a toilet paper fixture, of telescoping fixed and removable sections, the fixed section comprising a head formed with orifices for the passage of attaching screws and a tubular shank extend ing centrally from said head and provided with a notch in its free end, the removable section comprising a circular head and a stem extending centrally from the head and adapted to fit the bore of the tubular shank of the fixed section, said removable section having a stop lug adapted to engage the notch of the tubular shank aforesaid and hold the parts from independent turning movement, and means associated with said stem and shank for locking the sections together.
2. The combination in a toilet paper fixture, of telescoping fixed and removable sections, the fixed sect-ion comprising a head formed with orifices for the passage of attaching screws and a tubular shank extending centrally from said head, and provided with a lateral orifice near its free end, the removable section comprising a circular head and a stem extending centrally from the head and adapted to fit the bore of the tubular shank of the fixed section and formed with a peripheral recess, and a spring locking tongue secured at one end in said recess with its free end adapted for holding engagement in the lateral orifice of the tubular shank of the fixed section aforesaid.
3. The combination in a toilet paper fixture, of telescoping fixed and removable sections, the fixed section comprising a head formed with orifices for the passage of attaching screws and a tubular shank extending centrally from said head and provided secured at one end in said recess with its free with a lateral orifice near its free end and end adapted for holding engagement in the 10 with a notch in its free end, the removable lateral orifice of the tubular shank of the section comprising a circular head and a fixed section aforesaid.
