Next to the inner layer 19 r is the Kama covering22 just referred to, which has a slit at the inner end of the window15, and the inner. end ofthe slot in the inner; layer 19, to

provide for the introduction-of the tongue 21 behindthe transparent covering 20' and in 'position registering "with the window or sight opening 15 to show thena neof the i owner oftheaccount, and if tdesired, data identifying the particular account where the owner has morethan one account.

The slit of the inner covering 22- appears in-Fig. 1,

where the tongue'21 is seen within the space" between the inner covering 22 and'the trans parent covering 20, the slotted opening of the inner layer 19 forming a pocket to recelve and retain the transparent covering 20 and also the tongue 21. In the figure last mentioned, the tongue 21 furthermore is seen as projecting from a portion 23 of the pad, a leaf or portion 24- of which enters the enlarged pocket or' compartment formed between the outer and inner walls ofthe'cover and opening alongits inner edge adjacent the center of the cover as abovedescribed,

80, outwardlybeyond the dotted line 31,.is then cut away, leaving a portion 24, which extends into the enlarged pocket of the cover and cooperates with the tongue extending behind-the sight opening, to hold the padin place in the cover.

It is thus .to be seen that my inventionis capable of ready duplication and use in connection with both the front and back of a pass book cover 10, particularly in connection with a pad such, as indicated at 31 in Fig.

2, ruled and'readable in relatively opposite directions from :its center, so that when placed-within the cover, the latter reads correctly in upright position for each of two accounts, it being-apparent that due to their location adjacent relatively opposite ends ofthe.cover,'one of the sightopenings 15 and 16 )Will appear uppermost in either of the reversed positions of the cover.

. My invention'also provides for the use of the ordinary pass book .pad simply cut at the outer page or pages thereof along the dotted lines 29 parallel to the upper edges and below the space where the account owners name is usually written, so as to form the "necessary tonguetfor projection between the inner covering 22 of the cover and the sight opening 15, while the remainder of the outer page or pages are p'rojectedwithin the inner enlarged pockets of the cover. The most simple form of my invention is exemplified'in Figs. 7, 8 and 9, wherein the cover 35 of Figs. 7 and 8, has its outer wall f provided with asight opening 36 at one side and'has inner walls "37 at its opposite sides forming inwardly opening pockets for A section of one end, as indicated atthe reception of the outer pages orstiffened sheets '38 of a pad 39 asseen in 9, the name of the depositor being written or printed on the outer face of one of the sheets 38 as seen 'in'dotted'lines in Fig 9, to show through the window or sight opening 36, as "in Fig. 7.

As seen Fig. 10,the cover 40 may have name of the depositor written or printed at '43 on the inner surface of-one of the outer pages or stiffened sheets of the pad 44: will show when the cover is open. According to the form of Figs. 11 and 12,v the-cover 45 of Fig. 11 has its outer and inner walls-provided at one side with alined openings 46, the pad itself. having the depositors name thereon as seen at 4:7, in the usual place to show through the alined open ings. This is accomplished by cutting away that portion of one of the outer pagcsor an additional opening 11 throughone of its inner pocket forming walls 42 so that the stiffened sheets 18 of the pad 49 as seen particularly at 50 in Fig. 12, which would other- Wise, obstruct the View through the open' ings46. 7

It is obvious from the foregoing that my invention is capable of various changes and modifications of which the most important only'have been shown and particularly de'-.; scribed. I

the outer wall havingcan outer covering provided witha sight opening adjacent one end, and an inner covering between the pocket and the sight opening, said outer wall including an inner layer and. an inner covering between the sight opening and the said pocket, the inner layer being provided with a slot opposite the sightopening and the said inner covering being provided with a slit adjacent the inner end of the sightopening through which access may be had to the slot of the said inner layer from the pocket of the cover.

A pass book including a pad having. its outer pageseparated to form a tongue at one end on which the name of the account owner appears,and a cover having inner and outer walls forming an inwardly opening pocket to receive the said outer page of the pad and its tongue, said outer wall- 0f said cover including an outer covering 'hav ing a sight opening adjacent one end and an inner layer provided with a slot opposite the sight opening, a transparent cover ing for the sight opening, said slot of said inner layer forming a pocket to receive the said transparent cover and the tongue of the pad, and said outer wall also including an inner covering between the said inner layer and the outer page of the pad lying within the first mentioned pocket, said inner cov-- ering having a slot adjacent to the inner end of the sight opening to permit of the introduction of said tongue within the pocket of the inner layer, as described.

A pass book for bank depositors including a cover and a detachable pad therein having tongues forming name spaces for the name of the depositor the cover having inner and outer walls forming inwardly open-' ing pockets receiving the outer'pages of the V pad and said tongues, and, said outer walls being provided with sight openings for exposing the name space of the 7 pad to View through the cover and with tongue receiving sight openings.

5.- A pass book for depositors eluding a cover and a detachable pad there-- in having outer leaves one of which is pro vided with a space for the name of the deopening through which the said name space j is exposed.-
