MARVIN OADWELL, OF LANSING, MICHIGAN.
IMPROVEMENT IN TUG-STRAFS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 134,975, dated January 21, 1873.
To all whom. it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARVIN CALDWELL, of Lansing, in the county of Ingham and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Metallic Hame Tug-Straps; and I do declare that the following is a true and accurate description thereof, reference be ing had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon and being a part of this specification, in which my invention is shown in perspective.
This invention relates to that class of hame tug-straps which are made of metal; and consists in certain details of construction, which will be fully described hereinafter.
In the accompanying drawing, Arepresents a hame tug-strap, consisting of a back plate, a, with two flanged edges, b. Between these flanged edges the ends of the tugs are secured by being passed under the loops 0, which are cast on and with the balance of the device. The ends terminate in suitable hooks B (3, with which to secure the same to the hames at one end, and to the tugs at the other.
If preferred, the side flanges b may be turned inward at their top edges to form a groove or continuous loop to confine thetug ends.
