WITNESSES A TTOR/VEYS UNITED STATES PATENT 0FFICE..
AL ONSO D. PERALTA, GUATElVIALA CITY, GUATEMALA.
HOSESUPPORTER.'
To all whom it may concern.
- Be it known that I, ALoNso D. PERALTA, a citizen of the Republic of Guatemala, and a resident of Guatemala City, Republic of Guatemala, have invented a new and Improved Hose-Supporter, of which the following is a description. 1
My invention relates to garment supporters, and more particularly relates to a device adapted for use as a hose or sock supporter although not limited in all its phases to that particular use.
The general object of my invention is to provide a supporter of the indicated character improved in various particulars especially having in view the effective gripping of the supported garment and convenience in applying and detaching the supporter.
The above and other objects as will appear are attained by a supporter presenting a suspender end or ends in looped form through or into which a portion of the hose for example may be passed, together with a slide into which the loop with the portion of the hose therein may be drawn and then securely clamped.
In the preferred form the device embodies a pair of suspender ends such as referred to and these are carried by a suspension element equipped with similar gripping means whereby to fasten the supporter to the drawers or other undergarment of the wearer.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, it being understood that the drawings are merely illustrative of one example of the invention.
Figure 1 is a front view of a supporter embodying my invention;
Fig. 2 is a portion of one of the suspender ends indicating the manner of engaging the loop with the hose;
Fig. 3 is a View similar to Fig. 2 indicating the position of the parts when the loop with the garment portion therein has been drawn into the slide and clamped therein;
Fig. 4 is a longitudinal vertical section of one of the slides and the adjacent portion of the loop the view including a portion of the hose.
In the illustrated example two suspender ends 10 are integral with each other and formed by an endless flexibleelement 11, and slides 12 are provided on said ends 10. The terminals of said'suspender ends pre- Specificat ion of Letters Patent.
sent loops 13 through which a portion a such as the edge portion of a hose or'sock A may be passed. The arrangement is such that the loop 13 with the part a therein and the adjacent portion of the garment'may be drawn into the slide 12 or rather the slide may be moved forwardly on an end 10 over the loop 13 and the engaged portion of the garment.
Clamping means is provided on each slide 12 to firmly grip the loop and the engaged portion of the garment when within the slide. In the illustrated example I have shown a U-shaped spring 12 in'the slide and the bend of said spring lies at the interior of the curved, closed upper end of the slide as best seen in Fig. 4. Said closed end has holes therethrough for the passage of the two strands of the flexible element 11, so that the slide may be freely moved forward or back on the strands to or from the end of the loop 13. One arm 12 of-the U-spring 12 is free to be flexed under the pressure of an L-shaped lever 12 pivoted to rock in a slot 12 in the slide and having its foot or L-member 12 adapted to bear against the arm 12 of the spring to clamp the latter tightly onto the portion of the garment and the loop.
Associated with the flexible element 11 having the described features is a suspension element 14 which also in practice is in the form of an endless strand and is equipped with a slide 12 in all respects the same as those previously described. Said element 14 presents an end loop 13 corresponding with the loops 13 into which a portion of the drawers or other undergarment of the wearer may be passed and then drawn with the loop into the slide 12, whereby the ends 10 may be suspended in position to engage a sock at opposite sides of the leg.
In order to detachably connect the sus pension element 14 with the element 11 between the ends of the latter, I provide a clasp comprising a member 16 on the element 11 and a member 17 hung on the lower end of the element 14. One of said members (16 in the illustrated example) has a stud 18 thereon which is receivable in a key-.

2. A device of the class describedincluding a flexible element in looped form adapt ed to receive a garment portion to be gripped, a slide carried on said loop and front and back.
I movable to and from the end thereof, so that clamping positions, said means being adaptfed to clamp the loop and the engaged portion of the garment to said slide.
3. A device of the class described includ ing a flexible element presenting a loop into which a portion of a garment may be passed, a slide carried by said element and presenting a front and back spaced from each other and between which the portion of a garment and said loop maybe passed, and means on the slide to clamp the loop and said portion of the garment between said ALONSO n. PERALTA."
