IMPRGVEMENT EN CLOCK-CASE$.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 134,1438, dated December 24, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARLTON W. Ronnnrs,
ofGhicago, in the county of Cook and State of Iilinois, have invented certain Improvements in Clock-Gases, of which the following is a specification The nature of this invention consists in in akin gthe clock-case of a triangular shape, so that it may be hung or placed in a corner; the advantage being the eheapness of making and the certainty that the clock will stand plumb when in position without adjustment, and that the clock in this position may be seen from every part of the room with equal facility.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 represents a front view of the clock-case, and Fig. 2 a top or plan view thereof.
Like letters of reference made use of in the several figures indicate like parts.
General. Description.
in the drawing, A represents the framework of the clock-front, and B the door hinged thereto. G represents an extension of the frame A to the rear. F F are the two angling sides joined to each other and to the frame A G. The mechanism is contained within the case, there being ample room to secure the usual-sized works in a case with no larger face or frame A C than one made in the usual shape requires. This construction greatly cheapens the cost of making the clock, because the expense of veneering, varnishing, or painting the sides is dispensed with, and the only portion of the clock-case in my invention which requires ornamentation of any kind is the front or face.
