My invention relates to improvements in fences; and the nature thereof consists in the construction and arrangement of the parts thereof, hereinafter shown and described.
In the accompanying plate of drawing, which illustrates my invention and forms a part of the specification thereof. corresponding parts being designated by similar letters Figure l is a perspective view. Fig. 2 illustrates a detached section of fence.
The construction and relative arrangement of the component parts of my invention are as follows: Each section of the fence-is composed of three rails, A B O, and three posts, D E F. On either end of the said rails are wrought the diagonal notches d e f, and the projections d e f, fitting exactly within the same in such a manner as to form a lock-joint, and fasten the sections of the fence in such a manner as to resist extraneous pressure, and to prevent one section of the fence from being lifted from the other. The end posts 1) and F are provided with the hasps a a and staples b b. Over the lower hasp a, and at each angle of the fence, are driven the notched stakes H, which hold the fence firmly in position and prevent it from being overthrown.
Having thus described the construction and operation of my invention, I will state wliat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, in the following clause:
