UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
MLELCHIER FOX AND FRANKLIN BEINHARD, OF W'E-ST- EAU CLAIRE, WIS.
IMPROVEMENT IN LAMP-HEATERS FOR NURSERY-CUPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,275, dated July 16, 1872.
7 To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, MELOHIER FOX and FRANKLIN REINHARD, of West Eau Claire, in the county of Eau Claire and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Nurse-Lamps and We do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
The figure of the drawing is a representation of a vertical central section of our invention.
This invention has relation to a water-heating or food-cooking apparatus, designed to be used in connection with an ordinary kerosenelamp; and it consists in the novel construction of a metallic frame holding a cup or vessel, and adapted to rest on a lamp-chimney, as hereinafter described.
Referring to the drawing, A A represent two metallic rings of difi'erent diameters, arranged at distance of an inch or so apart, and connected together by means of bent wires or plates a, which are extended above the upper ring A, and bent out at a to form shoulders for the reception of a cylindrical vessel, B, designed to contain water or other fluid or substance to be heated. The wires a are elastic, and are inwardly inclined at their upper parts so as to slightly press against and hold the vessel B in its position. B designates a conical shade encircling the ring A, and designed to shade the light from the eyes of the attendant. G G representm eta-llic springs. The springs marked 0 are secured, at equal distances apart, to the inner surface of the ring A 5 thence extend upward and through the ring A, (being slightly curved inwardly, as shown,) and have bent on their upper ends the fiangesd, to rest on the top of the lamp-chimney. The springs O are secured to the inner surface of the ring A, and i are thence curved outwardly and extended 2. The shade B attached to a cup-holder for lamps, constructed substantially as specified. In testimony that we claim the above we have hereunto subscribed our names in the presence. of two witnesses.
