Application filed January To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL L. SHELTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Greenfield, in the county of l eakley, State of Tennessee, have invented a new and use ful Combination Box and Newspaper Wrap per; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, suc as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appert-ains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a combination box and paper wrapper, and an object of the invention is to provide a wrapper having meanswhereby the wrapper may be employed for securely wrapping a box, news paper, or a magazine or the like.
A further object of the invention is to provide a wrapper which may be easily constructed for a small cost and sold at a reasonable profit.
A further object of the invention is to provide an improved wrapper particularly adapted for securing and wrapping boxes for facilitating against damage during their transportation through the mails, particularly the parcel post system.
A further object of the invention is to provide awrapper consisting of one or two-sec tions' the single section being adapted for use ini' gwra ping newspapers and the like, and

In practical fields the details of construction may necessitate alterations falling with in the scope of what is claimed.

may be constructed of any suitable material,
preferably heavy paper. T his body is provided with a transversed perforated or scored line 2, and on one face of the body on each side of the scored or perforated line, suitable adhesive material 3 may be applied. One end of the wrapper is provided with an aperture or opening 4 having a heavy paper about its marginal edge. A metallic tab or fastener 6 is provided for the other end of the wrapper. This tab or fastener is T-shaped, and the end portions 7 of the transverse part of said T-shaped fastener are forced through the end of the wrapper .and bent asshown to secure the tab to the wrapper. in wrapping newspapers, magazines and the like, the wrapper is first secured to the newspaper (which is rolled) by means of the adhesive material of the wrapper are then passed about the newspaper or the like and the tab passed through the reinforced opening 4 and bent. The end of the wrapper to which the tab is attached is reinforced by a heavy piece of paper 8. in wrapping boxes or the like, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 the wrapper may be severed on the perforated 2, subsequently to which the be secured to the gether by the tab 6, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. If desired the wrapper for a box may be constructed in two sections originally.
The invention having been set forth what is claimed as new and useful is A. wrapper, comprising a blank having c0- operating fasteners at its opposite ends, a facing of adhesive material extending transversely of one face of the blank across the middle portion thcreof,sai l blank at its center and across the mid lie of the facing of adhesive material bci g provided, with a scored line of perforations, whereby the blank may be employed as a newspaper wrapper or severed on said scored line of perforations, whereby the opposite halves of the blank may be employed as box wrappers.
