JACKPLAYE. tee; Snwmem @i lettere w litem Application filed July 27, 1918. Serial No. 24S/,065. To LEZ whom it' may concern: The hed is closed at its ends7 as indicated Be it known that we, HENRY C. Bierman and RAN'rsLEn M. MAssnY, citizens of the United Sta-tes, and residents of Bixby, in the county of lulsa and State of Oklahoma, have invented certain new and useful lmprovenients in Jack-Plates, of which the ifollowing is a specilication.
@ur invention is an improvement in jack plates, and has for .its object to provide a device of the character specified i'or supporting oil well jacks, wherein the plate consists oi' two portions, one engaging the base, the axis rod oi' the jack resting upon the other, the said other plate being adjustable with respect to the first named plate.
ln the drawings:
.Figure l is a side view of the jack in place on the plate;
Fig. 2 is a perspective view oi the plate;
lig. i, is a transverse vertical section.,
rl`lie present embodiment .of the invention is shown in connection with the rod l oi a jack 2, and the base or jack plate consists ci a lower section or bed B and an upper sec tion or cradle Ll The lower section or leed is substantially rectangular, having oper 5 at its corners, by means oi whic it .v
may be secured to a concrete base, and the upper section is pivotallv connected to the lower section as indica-ted at 6.
This upper section has at one side a circular outline, indicated at 7, the said outline being formed on a circle whose center is the pivotal connection 6, and the lower section has a lip 8 which overlies the upper section at its are shape or circular outline to limit the upward movement of the upper section with respect to the lower section at such point. The upper section or cradle has a bed 9 extending diametrically of the pivetal connection, the said bed being adapted to receive the rod 1 and being or" such length that the rod will it loosely therein.
and the upper sec which curve over the rod l when it is in pla-ce in the bed, to prevent displacement of the rod. The lower section has lugs l2 at its rear, and through these lugs are threaded s t screws 13, the set screws engagingl the upper sections, and it will be evident that by tightening and loosening the set screws the upper section or hed may be turned with respect tc the lower section.
ln use9 the rod l et the jack is arranged in the bed, and by means oit the set screws the jack and the beain may be lined up correctlyd lt will he noticed that the lip 8 is separable from the lower section or bed 3, and is held to the hed cy dowel pins and a bolt and nut le The pivot pin 6 is integral with the upper section or cradle 'We cleirn:
