A closure for bottles, comprising cap having 1L downwardly projecting annuiar crimped flange 2, and a number of projections 3 uriumged eguidismnt around and extending; below said annular flange and each having a recess 4 in its under surface below said flange 2, said projec'bions 3 consisting of two plane faces forming an oblique angle with {lie annular flange and meeting in e dimm'vardly and outwardly inclined ridge.
