Be it known that I, Jomcs Ro'nvnn, a citi zen of the United States, and a resident of the city of NewYork, county of Queens, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Spring-Bed Covers of which the following is a full, clear, an exact description. My invention relates to improvements in covers for spring beds, and the object of my invention is to produce a simple, inexpensive and attractive cover which can be conveniently applied to a spring bed whether the V spring bed isa' box spring or otherwise, and

which will give to any pring to which it is applicable the appearance 0 a box spring. My invention is also intended to produce a cover which can be easily applied, and which has resilient or elastic portions along its sides or ends which cause it to draw snu to the sides of the spring bed and so nicely, and at .the same time permit it to adjust itself to any slight irregularities of the bed. Another object of my invention is to produce a cover which can be laidout flat so that it can be washed easily and as easily ironed, 'andfurther toconstruct the cover so that all the-'fastenings, which are preferably buttons, will be concealed when the cover'is attached to the spring bed, thus giving it-the ing one end of the cover with the main flap with the elastic section inturned up and place. 7

The cover is made of. a main blank 10 adapted to fold downward at the four sides asshown by

The corner flaps 14 are provided with buttonholes 15 near the outer edges as shown clearly inFigZ 1, and the flaps 13 are provided with buttons 16 on their inner sides and near the outer edges as shown clearly in the second figure. A section 17 is adapted to lie along the inner sides of the cover ends, and this'section has an elastic portion 18 preferably of elastic webbing. the corner flaps 14 are turned inward as shown in Fig. 3, and the sections 18 are placed inside the flaps 14, and the buttons 19 button through the buttonholes 15 which beef are at the extreme ends of the fiaps 14. The

flaps 13 are then turned down and the buttons 16 buttoned intothebuttonholes 15 which lie along the lower edges of the flaps 14. The coveris then complete, the buttons orfastenings do not show, and it has the appearance of a complete permanent cover. The cover can be drawn over a bed as shown in Fig. 6, and in this case I preferably use a pad 20 beneath the top of the cover, while the elastic elements serve to draw the .sides snugly around the spring bed.

, It will be und'erstood,of course, that while the buttons and buttonholes are a simple and" preferred means of fastening the several flaps and the section 17 together, still other forms of fastenings can be substituted without affecting the nvention. It will also be noticed that when the cover is taken apart it can be readily cleansed or washed, can be laid out fiat and easily -ironed, and again readily applied to the bed. It will also be understood that the elastic elements 17 are referred to as'at the ends of the cover, but

It cleimzl. A. cover comprising e main blenk having end and corner flaps and adapted to turn down at the sides, adapted to turn beneath the end flaps, means for fastening the several flops together, and elastic means connecting the corner flaps.

2. A bed spring cover comprising a, main blank having corner flaps end mein flaps located between the corner flaps, an elastic element connecting the corner flaps when the letter are turned in, end means for securing the main flaps to'the corner flaps.

3. A bed cover com-prising e main blank adapted to turn down at the sides to form. the sides of the cover corner fieps forming extensions of such sides, main flaps located between the corner flaps, elastic elements detachably secured to the corner flaps, and fastening devices connecting the lower edges of the main flaps with the corresponding edges of the corner flaps.
