IMPROVEMENT IN SASH-HOLDERS.
Specification'forming part of Letters Patent No. 126,380, dated May 7, 1872.
SPECIFICATION.
I, EPHRAIM CU'LVER, of Shelburne Falls, in the county of Franklin and State of Massachusetts, have invented a certain Window-Sash Fastener, of which the following is a specification:
Nature and Object of the Invention.
My invention consists of an outside knob or handle, to which is attached a screw-arbor or spindle, at the end of which arbor, opposite Description of the Accompanying Drawing.
Figure 1 shows the fastener by itself, unconnected.- Fig. 2shows a section of sash with groove. Fig. 3 shows an open section of window-frame and sash with the fastener applied.
A is the handle. B is the screw-arbor. O is the projecting nut. D is the window-frame. E is the window-sash. F is the groove.
The handle A being turned the sash E is firmly held, between the projecting nut G on the inside and the handle A on the outside, at any desired height or position.
What 1 claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination and arrangement of the handle A with the screw-arbor B, the projecting nut G, and the groove F, substantially as hereinbcfore set forth.
