To all whom t may concern:
Be it knownthat I, O'rfro HAENTJENs, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, residing at Newark, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, havey invented certain new-and l5 eiliciency and in which the fluid shall make no sharp turns and the velocity ot the water shall be gradually reduced and transformed to pressure between the iirst and second stages.

What I claim is.
1. A centrifugal pump having two single suction im ellers arranged back to back with their sing e suctions in opposite directions and with volute deliveries and a assage connectingthe discharge volute of t e firststage with the suction ot the second sta e, said discharge assage running tangentiailly from the first ischarge volute in gradually increasing crosssection to gradually reducethe velocity of the iiuid and transform it into pressure and then transversely under the volute delivery ofthe second stage, and v upward to the eye of the second impeller.
2.
