This invention relates-to; meansor devices for rendering more} comfortable persons clothing'duringwarm weather and has for an objectthe provision of an appliance specifically designed to bev used in connection with a blouse or analogous garments for holding the bottom edge portion thereof in spaced relation 'to the garment or: garments therebeneath. By this arrangement there-is permitted a free circulation of air upon and about those portions of the body which usually receive the least, and as a result a material reduction in the temperature about the body is secured.

It is further a purpose of the present invention to provide a means of this nature that is of an extremely simple and economical construction, and which in addition may be quickly and conveniently attached and detached.

Withthe above and-other objects of similar nature in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts, set forth in and falling within the scope of the appended claim.

Referring now more particularly to the accompanying drawing, there is shown the lower portion of a blouse 5', the bottom edge of which is provided-with a heading 6 having drawn therethrough a flexible band or tape 7 that is starched or otherwise suitably stiflened. There is also conventionally illustrated the upper portion of a pair of trouspeeificationof Letters Patent.

The ,inventioncomprises a pluralitytof spacing devices 9 identical; in. q nstruction and similarly applied at spaced intervals between the blouse and trousers as clearly illustrated. As above stated these spacing de-l vicesare identical in all respects and a description of one will therefore suflice for all.

Each of the devices 9 consists of a strip of suitable resilient material formed to produce an arcuate how 10 between its ends. At one end of this bow, there is a straight portion of the strip, which extends tangentially to the bow,.in the form of a'leg A, while at the other end of the bow, there is a straight portion of the strip which extends outwardly from the bow at an angle and in a line intersectingthe are of the bow, thus forming a second leg B, lying in a plane parallel with the leg A and project" ing somewhat therebeyond, so that when position, with the legs directed downwardly,

the leg B will extend below the leg A as r 1 shown particularly in Fig. 3 of the drawings. Each of the legs A and B is provided adjacent its end with outwardly directed spaced ears 11 formed integrally with the strip and provided with transversely alined openings. The terminals of said legs are furthermore directed outwardly at substantially right angles and have their end edge portion serrated to provide suitable gripping jaws 13. These extremities of the legs of the strip constitute corresponding elements-of a pair of spring pressed clasps 14:,

one of said legs merging into the bow at a tangent thereto and the other leg extending outwardly of the bow in a line intersectlng the bow and projecting beyond the extremity of the first-mentioned leg and members carried by the legs and arrangedfor cooperation with the extremities of the legs to produce a gripping action.
