The frame includes side portrons extending at the sides ofthe tub and connected by an end portion at the foot of the tub, and it also includes a substantially ii-shaped portion in connection with the curving extensions of the side portions of the frame at the head thereof. Each hinge is provided with a clamping screw 8 having threaded connection with the hook 'I and be ing adjusthie to clamp against the under side of the flange at the top of the tub in the manner illustrated in Fig. 4, in order to hold the hinge securely in positionfland to prevent the cover from becoming displaced when raised or lowered In cases where the tub is at a slight distance from the wall the cover may be tilted back against the wall and will be retained in that position by gravity. Instances occur, however, in which the wall inclines over with any proper retaining devic'e secured to the wall. Thus, by "this expedient the cover may be retained in open position in any location.

While I have suggested that the cover be made of canvas, I do not restrict myself to the use of that material, nor do I confine myself to the specific construction and arrangement of the other features described, since it is apparent that there may be variations without departure from the principles and scope of the invention.

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is 2-.

1. A device of the character described, comprising a metallic frame arranged to rest upon the upper flange of a bath tub outwardly from the planes of the Walls of the tub, a cover for the tub attached to said frame, and clamps pivoted to said frame and engaging the flange of the tub.

2.' A device of the character described,

1 comprising a frame arranged to rest upon the upper flange of a bath tub outwardly from the plane of the inner surfaces of the walls of the tub, a cover for the tub attached to said frame, hooks arranged to engage with the flange of the tub, and means for pivotally connecting said hooks with said frame.

3. A device of the character described, comprising a frame of larger area than the top of a bath tub arranged to rest on the upper flange of the tub outwardly from the plane of the inner surfaces of the walls of the tub, a cover for thetub attached to the frame, clamps arranged to engage with the flange of the tub, means in connection with said clamps for pivotally engaging the frame, and means in connection with the the upper flange of a bath tub, a cover for the. tub attached to said frame, hooks arranged to engage the flange of the tub, clamp devices for holding the hooks in connection with the flange of the tub, and means in connection with said hooks for pivotally engaging said frame whereby said frame may be pivotally raised and lowered relative to the tub.

A. device of the character described, comprising a frame arranged to rest upon the upper flange of a bath tub outwardly from the planes of the walls of the tub, a U-shaped portion in connection with the frame adapted to receive the neck of the user, an apron in connection with the U- shaped portion adapted to fit around the neck and shoulders of. the user, a cover for the tub attached to said frame, clamp devices for releasably engaging the flange of the tub, and means in connection with said clamp devices for effecting releasable pivot connection with said frame whereby said frame and the neck may be pivotally raised and lowered relative to the tub.

6.- A device of the character described, comprising a frame arranged to rest upon the upper flange of a bath tub outwardly from the planes of the walls of the tub, a U-shaped portion in connection with the frame adapted to receive the neck of the user, an apron in connection with the U- shaped portion adapted to fit around the neck and shoulders of the user, a cover for the tub attached to said frame, clamp devices for releasably engaging the flange of the tub, means in connection with said clamp devices for effecting releasable pivot connection with said frame whereby said frame and the neck may be pivotally raised and loweredrelative to the tub, and means in connection with the frame for preventing longitudinal movement of the frame relative to said clamping devices.
