Description

1. D; BRwm l .WATCH HooK.v i APPLICATION FILED NOV. i6. 19V-.
i lm/ATTORNEYS iNvENToR l l UNITED STATES PATENT oEEicE.
JULIA. D. .BBO'WN', 0F NEW YORK, N. Y.
waren-Hoon,
To all whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I,- JULLA D. BnowN, a citizen of the United States, borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have inventedv certain new and useful Improvements in Watch-Hooks, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improved watch-hook.
The object of -my invention is to provide a i branch of the inverted U having formed at its lower extremity a ring adapted'to-pass onto the swivel` of a watch-chain or fob and vthe other being adapted to it over a skirt 'or belt or through a button-hole or to be applied to some other portion of the garment.`
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 shows the device as applied to the swivel of a watch-chain or fob Fig. 2 is a perspective View. of the device in position, fitting over the top of a belt; Fig. 3 is a front elevation.
In each of these figures, 1 represents the -inverted U member, 4 represents the4 ring formed in the lower extremity of the side 2 of the inverted U member and which is adapted to be applied to the swivel of a watch-chain or fob asvshown in Fig. 1. In the preferred form of my device the ring 4 is bent outward in the plane ot the inverted specincation of Letten Patent. l Patent-,ed Mar. 19, 1918. Application nien November 1e, 1917. serial no. 202,300. A
U, as'shown in' Fig. 1,'the plane of the ring remaining substantially4 perpendicular to the plane of the inverted UI This bending isin order that when it is in operative position on the swivel of the A.watch-chain or fob and is supporting the watch the device may be in substantial y a vertical position. The side 3 of the inverted U member is used to pass over the belt or top through a button-hole of the jacket to prevent tlie watch from slipping down. In Fig. 2 I have shown the device in use passing overa belt or the top of a skirt. The lower extremity 5 of the side 3 is blunt in-order not to damage the garment.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is:
l; A watch-hook in the shape' of an inverted U, the lower extremity of one of the armsof the inverted U bein formed into a, ring to receive the swivel o a watch-chain or fob, the said ring being bent outward in the plane ofthe inverted U, the plane of the rin remaining substantially at right angles tot e plane of the inverted U.
2. A watch-hook in the shape ofv an inverted U, the lower extremity of one of the arms of the inverted U'being formed into a rin to receive theswivel of a watch-chain 'or ob, the said ring being bent outward in the plane of the inverted U, the plane of the rin remaining substantially at right angles to t e plane of the inverted U, and the lower extremity of the other arm being blunt.
of the skirt or In testimony whereof, I have signed my naine to this specification.
