IMPROVEMENT lN RETICULE WICKER-BASKETS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 125,706, dated April 16, 1872.
Specification describing certain Improvements in Iteticule Wicker-Baskets, invented by JOSEPH VENET, of the city, county, and State of New York.
The object ofmy invention is to enable reticule wicker-baskets, (and those of similar form) to be packed into a small convenient space for transportation and storage, it beingwell known that reticule baskets which are small at their mouths cannot be placed one within another as baskets of conical and other form can. Hence reticule baskets in quantity, occupying a large space in transportation, render freight expensive and add to the mercantile expense of the basket. To rectify this inconvenience, and save eXtra freightage, I have conceived the idea of constructing wicker reticule baskets, or those of smaller mouth than body, in sections, either centrally, longitudinally or transversely, as the case may require, in such manner that the sections can be easily packed one within the other, occupying a small space during transportation, and easily and readily put together when required for use in which consists the nature of my invention, as I will further explain by reference to the accompanying drawings, of Whichsent the basket in sections.
