This invention relates to display racks and has for its principal object to provide one on which is swingingly mounted a plurality of display frames, suitable adjusting ine-ans beingv provided whereby when `the display frames are swung consecutively from their normal position to a display position, they will all when released automatically swing back to their normal position.

W ith these and other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention comprises the various novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more fully described hereinafter and set forth with particularity in the appended claims.

Similar characters of reference are used to denote like parts throughout the accompanying drawings and the following description.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, it will be seen that my novel construction of display rack embodies in this instance a substantially rectangular frame comprising lower and upper bars 1 and 2, and end bars 3, respectively. The frame is supported and braced by legs d, and arranged within the frame in the lower opposite corners are triangular braces 5 which serve to add rigidity to the structure.

The upper bar 2 of the frame. has a. longitudinally movable and adjustable bar 6 attached to its under surface, this bar being provided throughout its length with a plurality of supporting hooks '7. The upper bar 2 carries threaded studs or bolts 8 which project downwardly through slots 9 in the bar 6 and have wing nuts 10 connected to their outer ends whereby the bar 6 may be clamped in any adjusted position. A bearing washer 11 is interposed between cach of the wing nuts 10 and the bar 6.

A lower bar 1 is also provided throughout its length with a plurality of supporting hooks 1.1, these hooks together with the hooks 7 serving to support a plurality of display frames 12, each of these frames l2 being provided at its opposite ends with eye bolts 13 which are positioned over the hooks 7 and l1 respectively.

When it is desired to display the articles mounted upon the display frames from the position shown in Fig. l, the bar 6 is adjusted to the left so that the hooks 7 will be out of vertical alinement with the hooks 11, thus assuming the dotted line position shown in Fig. l of the drawings. After the bar 6 has been adjusted, the display frames 12 are swung one by one from the left to the right and after they have all been swung to the right they will immediately upon being released automatically swing back tothe left to their normal position by virtue of the adjustment of the bar 6.-

ln some instances it might be undesirable to have the display frames swing from the left to the right, by reason of the position of the display rack with respect to some adjacent articles or store ixtu'reswhere the rack may happen to be displayed, and when such is the case the bar 6 may be adjusted in the opposite direction so that the display frames Will be normally positioned on the right of the rack and will automatically swing from the lett to the right after having been displayed to the perspective buyer. When the display frames have been adjusted to assume this latter normal position, they will normally hang in the position shown in Fig. 4 by full lines.

In order to hold and maintain the display frames in their normal position l provide a substantially triangular stop 1li which is provided with an aperture to receive a vertically disposed pin 15 that is positioned within the upper edge of one of the supporting legs 4f. The other supporting leg el is also provided in its upper edge with a vertically disposed pin 16 and serves as a stop for the frames when they are swung from their normal to a displayed position. When all of the frames have been swung into engagement with the stop pin 16, they will when released all swing automatically back to their normal position. When the display rack is adjusted so that the display frames will swing trom the left to the right instead of the right to the lett, the triangular stop 14 is removed from the pin 15 and positioned upon the pin 16 so as to form a proper stop for the frames in this reversed position, the pin 15 then serving as a stop for the frames in displayed position.

Each of the display frames 12, in this inf stance is provided in its inner circumferential edges with a pair of grooves 17 rinto which are sprung sheets of cardboard 18 and on which are adapted to be arranged the goods to be displayed.

Arranged upon the upper bar 2 is a suitable frame 19' which is adapted to contain an advertising card 20 on which may be printed and displayed the name or names of the articles mounted on the display frames.

F rom the foregoing description, taken in plurality of' display frames swinginolyV mounted 'upon said frame, and means tor adjusting the upper ends of said 'frames laterally whereby when the frames have been moved to displayed position, they will, as soon as released automatically swing back to their normal position.

A display racl comprising a frame, supporting means carried by the bottom of said frame, a bar carried by the top ot said frame, supporting means arranged upon said bar, a plurality of display frames swingingly supported on said supporting means of the bar and the bottom of the frame, and means for adjusting said bar longitudinally in either direction.

3. A display rack comprising a main frame, transverse supporting legs for the opposite ends of said main frame, a stop pin projecting upwardly from each supporting leg, a substantially triangular stop member having an aperture and adapted to be selectively positioned over each of said stop pins, and display trames swingingly mounted on said main frame and adapted to engage said stop member at one end of the main frame and the stop pin at the other end of the main frame to limit their swinging movements in opposite directions.
