Ta all wliom zt may co7wem:
Be it known that I, MIG''EL DE MARIA ARRIOJA, a citizen of the Republic of Mexico, and resident of the city of New York, in the county of Ncw York and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Non-Refillable Receptacle, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to non-refillabie receptacles for liquids. Such receptacles are utilized by manufacturers to prevent their refilling .with spuricus goods for palming ofi the substitutes upon the public.
The principal object of my invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive, and efficiently operative receptacle, wherefrom the contents may be readily extracted and which cannot be thereafter refilled.
ther objects and advantages wiil herein after appear.
][n the accompanying drawings,
Figure 1 shows a general perspective view of the receptacle.
Fig. 2 is a view similar to Fig. 1 but showintericr side of arched wall 3, and return movement or return swinging of the door, While it is in any position, is prevented by means of metal insrts 12 projccting from a wir 13 secured to the packing-strip 10 bearing against the arched wall 3. Any attempt side of the wall 2 and against'the exterior side of the door 6. The door is thereby swnng inwardiy and is caused to compress the liquid contents, which is in turn forced to press against a valve 14 secured to the upper part of wall 2. The liquid is compelled t0 bear against a diaphragm 15 of ing the reptade with its hinged door resaid valve and moves it awayrcntrary to moved therefrom. the pressure of an operating sprmg 16 there Fig. 3 shows a perspective view of the of, and then the liquid passes through a bent hinged door of the rcceptacle. passageway 17 and outwardly from the ori- Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional plan view et the fice or outlet 18 of said valve.
receptacle. ][t will be evident that any attempt to re Fig. 5 shows a sect1onal elevatcn of the valve which forms part et the invention.
Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a detard of the invention.
'1he receptacle proper, made of any suitable material, is of a general triangular configuration in horizontal cross-section, Fig;
4, and comprises top and 1b0ttom w21lls 1, an
upright, straight, rectangular wall 2., and an arched Wal]l 3, which adjoins the wall 2 at its edge 4: and is concentric with the opposite edge 5 of said straight Wall. '][he remaining or closing wali of the receptacle Consists oJE a door 6 which is hinged as shown at the edge 5 et Wall 2 and may be swung about its hinge in the direction of the arrow, Fig. 4, from an outwardly position shown to an intermediate positwn within the receptacle as indicated at 7 and to an innermost position as indicated at 8, until it is disposed right np against the inner side of the wall 2. When the dcor. 6 is thus swung inwardly its outer edge 9, provided with a rubber packing 10, Figs. 3, 6, in. a
groove 11 thereo, bears tightlp agt e fi]ll the receptacle by forcing liquid through the orifice 18 would be frustrated by the valve-diaphragm 15 which obstructs the passageway 17, and due to the bent form et said passageway it would prevent reachmg therethreugh to the valvediaphragm 15 with any implement in an attempt to move it back contrary to the pressure of its therefrcm npon swg et said ged' 2. 3. A non-refillable receptacle having the combination of a straight wall, an adjacent arched wall, a hinged wall adapted to swing toward said straight wal1 and along said arched wall, means to prevent return swinging of said hinged Wall, and a valve in sa1d straight wall to permit the contents to issue thefiefrom upon swinging of said hinged wa 4.
