To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE A. MENTEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Soap- Dishes, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in soap dishes and has for its object to provide a combined soap dish and scrub brush holder.

Another object of this invention is to provide a reversible soap dish.

Still another object of the invention is to provide a soap dish having a clamp attaching device.

With. the above and other objects in view, I have invented the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1, is a sectional view taken on line .A-A Fig. 2,

Like reference characters indicate like parts throughout the specification and in the several views of the drawings in which 1 indicates a soap dish which is reversible so that the surface 2 of the inclined wall 3 will hold a cake of soap when the edges 4 of the end walls 5 and 6 are uppermost and drain water toward the side wall 7 holes 8 being provided in said wall 7 in alinement with said water drain from the dish through said openings 8. Long legs 9 and short legs 10 integral with said end walls 5 and with the side walls 7 and 11 serve to hold the dish in a proper position when the dish is seated on a horizontal surface.

lFhe position of the dish may be reversed in which case it may be attached to the edge 12 of a bucket 13 by means of the back 14 which is a continuation of the wall 11 and the wall 3, and the resilient wire clamping device formed by wire 23 having right- angular ofiset ends 15 and 16 the terminals of which are secured to the edges 5 of the wall 8 in any suitable manner. When in this reversed position the surface 17 of the wall 3 becomes the seat for the soap 18 said surface inclining downwardly toward the openlngs 19 and 20 in order that any water from the soap will drain into the bucket 13. When in this position the edges 21 of the sides 5 form a support for the scrubbing brush 22 the legs 9 and 1O being adapted to prevent said brush from slipping from said support. An opening 22 is provided in the back 14 whereby the device may be suspended from a nail. The opening or cut away portion 20 permits of ready access to the soap.

Having now described my invention that which I claim to be new and desire to procure by Letters Patent is 1. A reversible soap dish having side walls on each side, long and short legs for supporting one of said sides uppermost, a back for one of said sides and a spring adapted to coactwith said back to form means for clamping said dish on a bucket to hold the other side uppermost.

2. A reversible soap dish having side walls on each side, legs for supporting one of said sides uppermost, a back for one of said sides and a spring adapted to coact with said back to form means for clamping said dish on a bucket to hold the other side uppermost, said back having a bent away portion to accommodate the curve of a bucket side.

3. A reversible soap dish having side walls on each side, legs for supporting one of said sides uppermost, certain of said sides coacting with said legs to form a brush support, one of said walls having openings therein.

4. A reversible soap dish having an inclined bottom and inclined walls extending above and below said bottom to provide receptacles on either side of said bottom, legs on one side of said bottom cooperating with said walls to form a brush support.

5. In a soap dish, an inclined bottom and walls projecting above and below said bottom, legs for maintaining one side of said dish uppermost, a clamp for maintaining the other side uppermost, a back wall forming an element of said clamp.

6. In a soap dish, an inclined bottom and walls projecting above and below said bottom, legs for maintaining one side of said dish uppermost, a clamp for maintaining the other side uppermost, a back wall forming an element of said clamp, and a resilient wire member forming another element thereof.
