Be it known that I, ADELAIDE TrIoMAs, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing in Brighton, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hose-Supporters, of which the following is a Specification.
This invention relates to improved hose.
supporters of the typein 'whicha single closed loop is employed, which twice surrounds the limb, the material beingicrossed and 'oneof the loops so formed embracing the hose while the other surrounds the limb. i The present invention hasfor its object to provide I an improved v supporter of the general type above referred to in which provision is made whereby the failure of the device owing to the displacement of the material at the point ofcrossing is prevented. a i
In order. that the inventionmay be better understood drawings are appended in which: Figure 1 is a plan showing the arrangement of the parts at the point where the Fig.12,is a view of a supporter;
Fig. 3, isa side view ofthe hose supporter in use.
Referring to the accompanying drawings,
a indicates a body preferably formedof two lengths of wire of flat section, each of which lengths is formed into an open loo-p I and the two loops crossed to form a body The loops are $01: dered or otherwise secured at their point of of cruciform outline.
, crossing and between the limbs is passed the material a, forming the support as shown in Figs; 1 and 2, the material being held where it crosses by means of the cruci formbody, as. above described. I
The reference numeral a indicates the strip or band of flexible materialfforming the limb encircling loops of the supporter,-
while the anchoring member which may be formed of leather or other suitable flezo ible fabric or material, comprises limbs '72 connected at their outer ends to a marginal Specification of Letters Patent.

border I), thematerial a being passed under substantially equal to the width of the materialfa so that the material is slightly gripped at the edges.
7. Patented Aug. 21, 191'7. i Application filed July 17, 1914. Serial No. 851,631.
The slide]; forms a protective shield or I guard and prevents the wire body a causing discomfort to the wearer.
As shown inin Fig. 3, the supporter is worn so that the wire or equlvalent device a is disposed at the back of and in the bend of the knee, the loops being located respectively one above and one below the knee, at the front.
For adjusting the length of the loops,
buckles, slides, or any other similar means of adjustment 00 may be provided.
An anchoring member adapted for use wlth a double loop hose supporter comcrossed upon itself to form the loops, the portlons crossmg one another being in con- I tactwith one another, said anchoring member having a central portion of cruciform outline and a border portion to which the ends of the central portion extend, the porcooperating in pairs, each pair comprising two" opposite openings and being provided for one of said portions of material, the
openings in an undulated'line and being in contact with one another at the middleof material being gripped between the sharp corners formed between the border and cruciform portion of the anchoring member, and a wire body formed of two links of wire crossed to form a cruciform and soldered together attheir crossing, the poruprising a length of material having its ends connected together, said material being portions of material. passing through such I i the anchoring member, the edges of the f tions of material also passing through the opposite openings formed by said links, the fixed my signature in the presence of the disltance betweeln the 01131361 eggt? {if the undersigned Witnesses. lin s con-es on ing to t e Wi t 0 t e ma.- terial, and the anchoring member protect ADELAIDE LOUISA THOMAS 5 ing the body'of thewearer fromoontaot Witnesses-z with the wire body.
