Specification of Letters Patent.
Patenten raw ea, rer 'a Application med March 21, 1917. Serial No. 156,313.
To all whom it may concern.'
B'e it known that I CHARms H. Leuna, a
.citizen of Switzerlan ,residing at Alameda,
in the coimty of Alameda and State of California, have invented new and useful lmprovements in Luminous Push-Button Attachments, of which the following is a specilication.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device which can readily be attached around a push button and which will be visible in the dark.
The edge of said glass In the accompanying drawing, Figure` 1 is a side view of the device; Fig. 2 is an enlarged longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 3 is an enlarged cross-section.
Referring to the drawing, 1 indicates a small convex piece of glass, coated on the inside, as shown at 2, with radium powder, secured thereon by any suitable adhesive.
a disk 3 of rubber, leat er, cloth, or any `other yielding material. Said disk 3 rests against a disk 4 of brass or other suitablemetal, the edge of which is soldered or otherwise secured within a cylinder 6. The cylinder 6 isof such diameter and extends on one side of said disk to a suiicient distance, as to enable -it to lit around an electric ush button with a fit suliiciently close to a' ere firmly thereto. On the other side of said disk it is pressed inwardly, as shown at 7,- to secure the glass piece in place upon the yielding disk.
The coating of radium owder renders the glass luminous in the ark.
'lhe convex form of the glass piece is desirable since it enables the luminous attachment to be visible from any angle.
l claim 1. A luminous attachment for push butpliece rests against tons, comprising a cylinder of diameter and len h to "enable it to. t snuglyaround a pus button, a hollow convex piece of glass Secured to the outer end ofthe cylinder, and luminous material coating the inner surface of said piece; v
2. A luminous attachment for push butlengthto enable it to fit snugly around a push button, a metal disk `secured transversely in said cylinder, a hollow convex sheet of glass, the edge lof lwhich is supportedlby said disk, and which is secured 1n the outer end of the cylinder, and luminous substance coating the inner surface of said sheet. s
3. A luminous attachment for push buttons, comprising a cylinder of diameter and length to enable it to ft snugly around a push button, a yielding disk secured transversely in said cylinder, a hollow convex sheet of glass, 4the edge of which is supported by said disk, and which is secured in the outer end of the cylinder, and luminous substance coating the inner surface of said sheet.
4. A luminous attachment for push buttons, comprising a cylinder of diameter and .length to enable it to t snugly around a push button, a metal diskv secured transverselyv in said cylinder, a 'eldin disk closely adjacent to the metal disk, a ollow convex sheet of glass, the edge ot which is supported by said yielding disk, and which is secured in the outer end of the cylinder, and luminous substance ccatin the inner surface of said sheet.
