IMPROVEMENT IN WRlNGlNG-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,432, dated February 6, 1872.
Specification describing an Improved Wrin ger in vented by MARTIN WVAY and FRANK WAY, of Springfield, in the county of Clark and State of Ohio.
Figure 1 represents a side elevation of our improved wringer, showing it applied .to a bench. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same.

The invention will first be fully described and then clearly pointed out in the claim.
A in the drawing represents a bench upon which the wringer-frame B is secured, near one end and near the suds box or tub G of a washing-machine, which is also supported on said bench. G is the upper movable roller of the wringer; F, the lower roller, hung in fixed bearings. Straps and rods a a connect the ends or bearings of the upper roller 0 with a cross-bar, b, under the bench, the ends of said cross-bar being secured to the lower ends of the rods a. E is a lever held with one end against a point, Z, which is suspended from the bench, while its other end is connected with a treadle, D. The lever E rests on the cross-bar b. By bearing on the treadle the lever is swung down so as to bear on the cross-bar b, and draw down the roller 0. When the treadle is not to be used it is, by a projecting pin, f, at its free end, suspended from a slotted ear, 6, of the cross-bar, and thereby held out of the way. Having thus described our invention, we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of bench A, wringer-frame B, tub Gr, wringer-rollers F and O, rods a a, cross-bar b, lever E, point 1, and treadle D, when all are constructed and arranged as and for the purpose described.
