IMPROVEMENT IN GRAPE-BOXES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,060, dated January 23, 1872.
SPECIFICATION. To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, S. l?. TALMAN, of Perrysburg, in the county of Wood and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Grape-Boxes 5 and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being' had to the accompanying drawing' and to the letters of reference marked thereon which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to the construction of boxes more particularly adapted to the packing of grapes; and consists in the employment of an internal removable casing, to be used substantially as hereinafter set forth'.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now describe its con struction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing which forms a part of this specification, and in Which- Figure l is a plan of my box with the top removed; and Fig. 2, a vertical section, showing the top properly adjusted.
A represents the external casing, provided with a permanent bottom in the usual Way. b is the internal lining or casing, made to lit easily inside of box A. This casing is constructed Without top or bottom, as may be seen by reference to the drawing. B is the ordinary top, fitting upon the box A.
The manner of using my box is as follows: The internal casing is removed and set upon the top B which temporarily forms the bot'- toin. The grapes are then packed with the stem sides up.
