Description

Nn fr s'rafrns SHEET-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 19, 1917.
Application filed August 28, 1916. Serial No. 117,205.
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY VVILLLAM VON i UNRUH. a citizen of the United States, residing in Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented new and useful Improvements in Sheet-Holders, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved means for suspending sheets of paper, envelops, transfers, etc., and has for an object to suspend these in such a manner that each one may be removed readily from the holder without mutilation of the removed sheets or the remaining sheets on the holder.
A further object is to produce an improved sheet holder in which each sheet or other article suspended therefrom may be removed independently without danger of removing additional articles from the holder.
These and other objects are attained in the construction described in the following specifcation and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which Figures l and 2 are respective front and side elevations of a holder embodying my invention.
Figs. 3 and 4 are views similar to Figs. 1 and 2, but of a modified form of holder embodying my invention.
Figs. 5 and 6 are views similar to the above described views, but of a further modified form of my invention.
The holder embodying my invention consists of a wire having a looped end 7 adapted for engagement with the object supporting the holder, the opposite end being bent into the form of a small loop forming a knob 8. The sheets which are to be hung on the holder are perforated, the perforations being somewhat smaller than the knob by which they are supported and they are hung in position on the wire by passing the end 9 of the loop through the apertures of the sheets, the end 9 being bent out of alinement with the shank 10 of the wire to form an open loop as disclosed in Fig. 2.
In Figs. 3 and 4: the modification consists in forming the loop in the form of a circle 11, its end being bent out of alinement with the shank 12 in the manner disclosed in Figa.
In Figs. 5 and 6 the loop is materially different, it being designed for attachment to a button to prevent displacement therefrom and particularly designed for car conductors as a holder for transfers, the loop in this construction also having its end bent out of alinement with the shank for the purpose of placing the transfers in position on the holder.
In the principle as well as the modiiied constructions, the lower end of the shank adjacent to the knob, is bent outwardly and downwardly so as to hold the sheets in stepped relation to one another as shown in the drawings, in order that they may be readily grasped individually.
In removing the articles from the holder it is but necessary to grasp one and give it a quick downward pull from the knob 8, this operation causing the paper on each side of the knob to spread and pass over it without mutilation thereof and without separation of more than one article at a time from the remaining articles on the holder.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is A sheet holder comprising a wire having a loop at one end and a knob at the opposite end, with a shank between said loop and knob, said loop having its end out of alinement with the shank, whereby perforated sheets may be slipped over the end, around said loop and onto said shank in engagement with said knob, the lower end of the shank adjacent to the knob being bent outwardly and downwardly to hold the sheets in stepped relation to one another.
In testimony whereof, I affix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
HENRY WILLIAM VON UNRUH.
