A further object of the invention is to provide a device of this character which is constructed in such a manner that any water which may drip from such articles that are placed in the water, will be returned to the bath tub.
With these and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 isa fragmentary side elevation of a bath tub, showing the device in place thereon. I
Fig. 2 is a sectional view on line 22 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a rear view of the device.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view'on line 11 of Fig. 2. p
The device consists of a vertical bar 1, theupper end of which terminates in a horizontal bar 2, the ends of the same being provided with vertical extensions 3, which serve to prevent towels or the like from sliding from the bar when placed thereon.
The lower end of the bar 1 terminates in downwardly diverging arms 4, the lower Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 78,973.
ends of said arms having slidably connected thereto aws 5, said jaws being provided with set screws 6 for engaging under the fiange of the bath tub to exert a downward pressure inthe aws 6- which are formed integral with the arms at so as to hold the device vertically positioned.
Fixed to the lower end of the bar 1 is the upper end of the substantially triangular shaped plate 7, the lower end of which is fixed to the jaw 5, said plate having fixed thereto a pair of receptacles 8, which are spaced in horizontal alinement and are pref erably formed from wire, said receptacles being for the purpose of holding jars of salve or toilet powder.
Also fixed to the plate 7 and below the receptacles 8 are wire baskets 9, one of which being for the purpose of holding a cake of soap, while the other serves to hold a sponge. Fixed to the plate and arranged between the baskets 9 is a wire receptacle 10 which is adapted for holding a bath brush or the like, the receptacle 10 having fixed thereto the inner ends of the rods 11, the outer ends of which are fixed to the haskets 9, and serve to support wash cloths.
It will be noted that the plate 7 is arranged in inclined. relation with respect to the arms f so that when the toilet articles which have been immersed and returned to their respective holders, the water dripping therefrom will trickle down the plate 7 and into the bath tub.
WVhat is claimed is 1. An attachment for bath tubs comprising a vertical bar, diverging arms formed upon its lower end, said arms having their lower ends provided with movable and fixed jaws for clampingly engaging the flange of a bath tub, a plate having its upper end fixed to the bar and its lower end to the jaws, said plate having fixed thereto receptacles for holding toilet articles.
2. An attachment for bath tubs comprising a bar, the upper end of which terminates in a horizontal towel supporting bar while the lower end thereof terminates in divergingly arranged arms, said arms having their lower ends provided With jaws for clampingly engaging the flange of a bath tub a forwardly inclined plate having its upper end fixed to the lower end of the first named In testimony whereof, We aflix our sigmtures, in the presence of two Witnesses.
