To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY SAMUEL MAL- INS, of the city of Toronto, in the county of York, in'the Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements-in 'Holders for Tickets, Cards, and the like, of which the following is the specification.

My invention relates to improvements in holders for tickets, cards andrthe llke, and

It will be noticed on referring particu larly to Figs. 2, 8, 5 and 6 that the inner frame 2 is shorter than the outer frame 1 thereby forming an intervening space ll be tween the end walls ofthe frame. 'Each slot 8* extends over the end of this intervening portion at its lower end.

When it is desired to feed a ticket out of the ticket holder all that it is necessary to-do is to force the button 9 upwardly in the slot 3*. As before stated the head of the button 9 is of the same thickness as the ticket or card to be fed from the holder and the depth of the notch 15 is also approximately the same as the thickness of the ticket. It will, therefore, be seen that when the button 9 is forced upwardly as before described the head 9 of the button can only engagewith one ticket at a time, that is, the uppermost ticket. The width of the feed slot is also the same widthrasthe thick- As the button is forced upwardly the head engages the lower end edge of the ticket and forces it upwardly into the position shown in Fig. 3 passing through the feed slot so that the upper end protrudes upwardly from the casing. The ticket may then be withdrawn by the fingers of the user. As soon as the ticket iswithdrawn the spring bearing against the plate then forces the stack of tickets upwardly against the slide plate 3, the button 9 being withdrawn to its normal position, the. head 9 thereof passing downwardly through the notch 15.

In order to prevent the plates 6 and 7 from being fed upwardly by the button when all the'tickets have been fed out of the holder each plate is provided with an in- 7 turned portion 5' bearing against the upper tangular frame having its end walls of less width than the side walls, an inner rectangular frame secured within the outer rectangular frame and of less length than the outer rectangular frame and having one end wall thereof bearing against an end wall of the outer rectangular frame and of the same width to form one side of the feed slot and the opposite end wall spaced apart from the a corresponding end wall of the outer rectangular ttrame and provided with a central notched portion, longitudinal guideways formed at each side of the outer frame, slide plates held within such guideways and forming one end of the opposite side of the feed slot and having a longitudinal slot and against the inner face of which astack of tickets held within the holder bear resilient means for holding the stack of tickets against the slide plate, and a button having a shank extending through the longitudinal slot and provided with an inner head of the same thickness as a ticket.
