Be it known that I, F RED A. Cocina citizen of the United States, residing at Longview, in the county of Champaign and State of Illinois, have 'invented' certain new and useful Improvements in Concrete House and Cave Building Forms, of which the follow ing is a specification.
My invention relates to building forms for the erection of concrete houses such as garages, poultry, dairy and hog house and caves and other small buildings. The object of my invention is to provide a cheap' and simple'yet rigid construction which can be easily assembled and removed at a minimum cost. The all steel forms on the market are beyond the means of the small contractor in the small towns where mostof his work is on the farm and would not justify him in a more expensive equipment. A
I attain these objectsfby the forms illustrated .in the accompanying drawings in which- A Figure l is a perspective View looking down on and into said forms with concrete partly filled up on one side, Fig. 2 is a broken section of a retaining wall form used in the cave form which eXtra wall may be set at any distance from the main Wall in order to retain enough dirt to keep the interior of thecave at an even temperature; Fig. 3 is a wall form similar to Fig. 2 and used as the main wall for buildings hereto described; Fig. 4 is a detailed view of arch rafter support for the roof so constructed as to make the same collapsible and easily removed after the concrete vroof has set, Fig. 5 shows the method of construction of the inner and outer walls and taking out bolts of the inner wall forms and removing the channel iron studding which helps to form a tie from the studding to the inner wall making the wall forms collapsible so that they may be used repeatedly. Fig. 6 is a cornice form or mold which can be used when a cornice is desired or omitted in the cave form or concrete building. The cornice forms 8 and 9 and the exterior wall forms 15 are held in place by wall ties 22 and the wall spacers 19 vconstitute the frame work of the forms on which I base my invention.
The outer plank Wall 14 is held in posi--I tion by being attached to the uprights 17 which are angle iron Vstuddings and .at the inner corner of the inner .form uprights l, which areehannel iron studdings are attached bythe device shown in 16, Fig. 5 being a thin strap of'iron attached permanently tothe plank form \with a threaded hole in the .center of said strap penetrating a raised collar` attached thereto, said metal strap belng sunk into the plank in order to 4leave a smooth surface thereon and attached lto the plank form then held to the lcorner studding support whichis shaped as aA channel iron 1 by a screw headed bolt 24.- penetrating the raised collar 16, Fig. 5 which bolt can be easily removed from the inside thereby releasing the inner Wall form. The outer and inner wall forms are held together by an iron tapering circular wall tie 22 one end being threaded and the dity ameterincreasing toward the head vor' the bolt so that 'it-can be easier removed than the ordinary tie bolt.y The wallv tie is ad` justed to place by crank nut 11 and held in position by the channel or angle ironstudding 17 and 1. These iron studdings are so punched that the square head of the wall tie 28 is held firmly'by the'outwardly projeeting flange of the angle or channel iron and the tapered bolt being the desired length for the desired Width of the concrete wall and on the screw end the. shoulder of the crank nut is of suchlength that the arm interferes with the outwardly projecting flange of the channel or angle iron studding whenever' the supporting wall form 29 and 14 has reached its exact position on the wall tie. In event the wall form 29 or 14 bulges in,- theconcretewill force 1t back up against the crank nu't in position, .the inner wall rst being braced and set firmly in line by cross ties 5, thus making the Wall'tie selfspacing. y
