which is provided with a Angeles panying drawings,
AT S To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MILLIE JEAN CA son, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Pasadena, in the county of Los and State of California, have invented new' and useful Improvements in Washtnbs, of which the following is a specification.
. ,The mvention relates to washtubs, and has for an object to provide a wash tubof the stationary variety and which is preferably adapted for use in washing clothes and other fabrics.
The invention contemplates, features, the provision of a wash tub which will be of a clean and sanitary nature so constructed and arranged that it can be easily flushed, means being provided for rubbin washer? and cleaned.
The invention further contemplates a wash tub the body of which is preferably formed of an integral pieceof material and d f gpitablelspflash guar or preventin water om as in out of the tub.- Sp g In the further disclosure of the invention reference is to be had to the accomconstituting a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which:
"ofwashtub, showing the .washboard' integral with the tub'body; I
mental-y view looking at Figure 1 is a perspective view of my,
wash tub; Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view; Fig. 3 is .a planview; Fig. dis a fragthe face of the wash board; Fig. 5 is a fragmentary front eleration of the wash tuh,-.showing'the means: for securing the wash .within the tub; and Fig. 6 is a fragmentary board in position vertical sectional view of a modified form Referring more particularly to I disclose a edestal 10, which can-beef desired formed of a singlepieceof m'etalor other material such as soap stone or the like, suitable faucets 12 carried. by supply pipes 13 being arranged to extend through the rear wallli of the tub 11 as shown. The bottom- 15 of the tub body is preferably flat and the thesaid tub bodv having a front wall 16 tint which projects" upwardly and W Specification of Letters Patent.

among other.
the clothes while the same are being the jviews;

slightly outward from the bottom 15, thus with the lower part of the rear wall forming a well 18 in which the water for washing is adapted to be contained, the said part 17 of the front wall 16 including at-its upper end an integral forwardly inclined part 19 and which, with the part 17, constitutes the complete front wall 16 of the tub body, the
- said part 19 being preferably inclined atan angle of forty-five degrees to the horizontal as shown.
The upper edges of the rear and front walls-14 and 16 as'wellas the side walls-20 of the tub body 11 terminate in horizontal flanges 21 and of which the flange projecting from the front Wall extends inwardly to form a shelf which, in conjunction with the front wall and the general configuration of the tub body, forms a splash guard 22 to prevent water in the well from splashing outwardly'from the tub body when the same is in use.
On the inner face of the front wall 16 and more particularly on the inclined part 19- thereof, there is formed as bstantially rectangular depression 23 in which is adapted to repose a wash board 24 having the edges bordering its face lying flush with the edges bordering the depression 23, the
said wash board 24t being rigidly secured in position by a series of screws 25 passed transversely through the inclined board 19 of the front wall 16, from the exterior thereof and having their inner ends in threaded engagement with the wash board 24'. Thus it will be seen that the wash board can be conveniently removed when necessary so that it can be cleaned or be replaced by a new vwash board when the old one is Worn out. The wash board 24 is provided on its-face used, it being readilyapparent that by indining the corrugations as mentioned the. water will readilyrun 'fi'ombetween the same and into the well 18. In Fig. 6 I have disclosed a slightly modified form of my' device and wluch instance with. a series of relatively spacedfhorizon corrugations after the wash board has been.
provide a wash board 27 similar all respects to the'wash board 24 but formed integrally with the board 19 of the front wall 16' of the tub body 11, the said wash board 27 beincgl of substantially the same size, design an construction as the wash board 24: and similar in everyrespect thereto with the exception that it is formed integrally with the tub body, whereas the wash board 24 is made removable relatively to the tub body. A soap tray 28 is formed with the tub body and arranged tovlie between the faucets 12 as shown, thus providing a convenient receptacle for the soap to be used in connection with the clothes when the same are washed in the tub. Y
, From the foregoing description it will be apparent that the wash tub described is of a simple and durable construction; can bev readily cleaned and kept in a sanitary condition and presents a structure wherein the neoatea wash board and tub bodyl iare disclosing a structure which'will bacon veniently adapted for use'in washing fabrics and will eficiently acco plish the-remilt' which it is designed and intended.
Having thus; described my: invention, I
claim:
In a device having an inclined wall a corrugated sin-- face on said inclined wall, and a' pocket formed at the upper end ofsaid inclined of the class described, a one a v v wall and in advance of said corrugated'surface, said pocket extending-inwardly and around said inclined side.
