citizen. of the United States, residing atA Malad City, in the county of Oneida and State of Idaho, have invented `certain new and useful Improvements in ClothesPins,

This Iinvention relates lto new and useful improvements in clothes pins and particularlyto that class formed from a single piece of Wire, the object of my device being to provide a simple construction of clothes Vpin peculiarly bent in such a manner as to form clamping members by means of which articles of clothing or the like may be se-v cured on a line in the usual manner.

Another object of my invention-is the provision of a. bracing means upon`one of the clamping members for the coil, said means also serving to facilitate the application or the pin to a clothes line.

A` further object of my invention is the provision of means formed upon one of the clamping members 'for holding the other clam ing 'member in position.

Ot er objects as well as the nature and characteristic features'and scope oYmy invention will be more readily understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claim.

A portion 14, of the wire 1, extends down-v wardly from the coil 2,-from the side opposite portion 3, to form a single clamping arm 15, which' is bent at right angles as at 16, and extends between the members of the duplex clamping arm-- as clearly shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The single clamping arm 15 is now bent downwardly and has a, portion adjacent its lower end bearing against the portions 8 and 9,- of the duplex clamping arm 5.6, which prevents the singie arm 15 from passing between the members-ot the same. It will be obvious to those skilled in the nrt to which this invention relates, modifications may be made in detail Without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention. I

Having thus described my invention, what l desire to secure by Letters Patent is A device'of the character described. including a single piece of wire bent upon itself to provide a coil, a duplex clamping member depending from one side of said coil, said member being formed by a portion of the wire being bent upon itself providing arms,l the upper extremity of said duplex clamping member being bent at right angles so as to extend across the coil, :i loop formed on the terminal of the duplex clamping member sind engaged on the opposite side of the coil for binding the two strands of the coil together, a single clamping member bent at right angles from the body portion thereof and extending betweenthe arms of the duplex member, said single clamping member being bent at right :ingles and having the lower end thereofbearing against said duplex clamping member, and said loop further constituting a.

' stop for the thumb of the user when applying the pin to :i clothes line.
