Description
APPLICATION FILED APR. 26, I915.
Patented June 20, 1916.
R. m m V m WITNESS UNITED SATES PATENT OFFICE.
OSCAR C. POPE, OF STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA.
FLORAL CARD HOLDER AND CLAMP.
Application filed April 26, 1915.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, OSCAR C. Porn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Stockton, in the county of San Joaquin,
State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Floral Card Holders and Clamps; and I do declare the following to be a clear, full, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the characters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this application.
This invention relates to improvements in the means for attaching cards to floral pieces and bouquets of all kinds, the object of the invention being to produce an efficient means for clamping the card to the flowers without the necessity of tying the same in various ways as is now the common practice which requires a large amount of time and which has the disadvantage that very often the same become untied and lost.
A further object of the invention is to produce such a device as can be made attractive in appearance and at the same time one which will eflieiently fasten the card to the flowers.
A still further object of the invention is to produce a simple and inexpensive device and yet one which will be exceedingly effective for the purposes for which it is designed.
These objects, I accomplish by means of such structure and relative arrangement of the parts as will fully appear by a perusal of the following specification and claims.
On the drawings, similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several views.
Figure 1 isa top plan view of the complete device. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a view showing the practical application of the device.
Referring now more particularly to the characters of reference on the drawings, I first provide a spring pressed clamp or clasp 1 having jaws 2 adapted to be held in frictional contact with each other by the pressure of the spring 3. The upper side of the member 1 is provided with small bendable lugs 4, or other suitable means, for se- Specification of Letters Patent.

and unbent a number of times without breaking. I11 practice, the card or envelopcontaining the card, such as 7, is inserted over the member 6 which is then bent, as at 8, in order to e'lliciently hold the card or envelop. The jaws 2 are then engaged with the floral piece in any suitable or appropriate place where the frictional contact of the same will cause the device to be firmly clamped to the said floral piece until it is desired to remove the same.
From the foregoing description it can readily be seen that I have produced an ellicient structure for the purposes named and one which can be made in many attractive styles. It will further be seen that I have produced such a device as substantially fulfils the objects of the invention as set forth herein. I
\Vhile this specification sets forth in detail the present and preferred construction of the device, still in practice, such deviations from such detail may be resorted to as do not form a departure from the spirit of the invention, as defined by the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and useful and desire to secure by Letters Patent is .1. A device of the character described comprising a spring pressed clasp and a projecting member integral with one part of the clasp, such projecting member being capable of being bent and twisted at will without breaking, as described.
2. A device of the character described comprising a spring pressed clasp, small bendable lugs on the edges of one part of said clasp arranged to removably connect an' OSCAR O. POPE.
