of the members, being substantiallv U- shaped 1H cross section and the aw or engaging portion thereof being arranged at an jangle above the rear wall 'or connecting member for the sides, and to provide the said 'aw portion with a filler block which shall embody a number of. engaging faces,
any of whiclrmay be brought into surface, lVlth the above and other objects 111 view, ;the improvement resides in the construction, combination f and operative arrange- "Yfment of parts set forth in the following specification andfalling within the scope of, the appended'claimag D j i In the drawing: Figure l is an elevation of a: wrench construeted in accordance with the. present invention, parts being broken Wa way and parts be ngshow'n in section and illustrating one of the jaws swung angularly of the second jaw. Fig. '2. is a similar lwrench in alinement. and Fig. 0
view but illustrating the shanks of the is a per- -spective view .of'the toothed filler member for one ofthese'otions of the wrench,
Referring now to the drawings in detail, the numeral 1 designates a substantially frectangular member which comprises the shank of one of the jaws of my improved wrench. This member has one of its ends offset to. provide the jaw proper. the same on fwas'afii" j v d .i i e i nqfrgi 'ibppl ibation filed October 23, 5

The numeral 6 designates the second member orleg of the wrench. This member. for the major portion of its length. is U-shaped in cross section, providing spaced sides T and a connecting member '8. The sides 7 are spaced a suflicient distance to receive therebetween the shank 1, and the said sides. above their connecting wall 8 are rounded outwardly, as at 9, and adaptedto be removably secured between the said rounded portions 9 is a block 10, the said blockbeing substantially V-shaped to conform to the shape of the edges of the said portions 9 and PatentcdiiIavQ,

the shank 1 to project beyond the portions 9 of the leg6 when the legs are swung together, as shown in Fig. 2 of the drawings. and the side members 6 below the block 10' have a connecting prpivot member 12 which is adapted to be received within one of the notches 1 of the shank 1.
The shank 1, is of a width greatly less than. the distance between the terminal of the wall 8 and theinner face of the block 10. so that the same may be moved inwardl or toward the said wall 8 and brought out of engagement with the stud 1'2 when de sired, and so the jaw 2 may be easily and quickly adjusted upon the leg 6 of the wrench, and the (jaws brought to the proper or desired spaced relation.
The wall'HS of the leg'ti is provided with an opening or slot 13 within which is received the offset end 1% upon one of the legs 15 .of a two-leaf spring. the second leaf 16 engaging with the inner edge of the shank or leg 1 at a suitable distance below the pivot pin 12. and as a consequence. leg 1 is at all times retained at an angle with relation to the leg (3.
